Guideline 5.1.2(i) resolution: location is never published automatically. To test, sign in, open Explore, and tap Check In. The check-in is a manual action and expires after 15 minutes. Background location publication is disabled. Ghost Mode removes the user from discovery; Private Profile restricts visibility; Approximate Location prevents precise coordinates from being returned to other users; blocking and profile visibility are enforced by the backend across Explore, Search, Nearby, and discovery endpoints.
