What does this app do
Response from developer
Please ensure that the HomeAware II is updated to the latest firmware with the HomeAware Update menu in the app. You may have to re-pair after the update. Also, for full functionality, the app must be running in the background. Do not clear it from the app tray. For assistance with setting up the service for remote notifications to family members, please contact customerservice@sonicalert.com or (248) 577-5400.
Super janky, never works right, won’t connect half the time
Response from developer
For full functionality, the app must be running in the background. Do not clear it from the app tray. Also, there have been stability improvements since version 2.0 of the app, so updating to the latest version may improve things in your situation.
Constantly loses pairing
Phone functions don’t work
Text alert not working
SonicAlert Review Underway…
A final production of my review shall be posted as soon we see how it goes for us—Bluetooth connectivity and all.
I am really hoping that we won’t have any technical issues with the SonicAlert. Did have any run ins with the aforementioned?
What are the PROA and CONS of this very application? A response from regular SonicAlert Portable Alarm Clocks (the ones you put under the pillow or on your person if away from home on a vacation) would be very much appreciated.
Thank you!
Having issues with calls and text now
Just pairing Bt, that's it...
Update: still have issues... currently on 10.3.3
When it finally stay paired, I do get notifications only from the devices not from the app. The app does not notify anything so I had to look at HomeAware master to what the alert is, I physically get up and get in the line of sight quickly to read the text on Homeaware or miss it. With iOS 11 coming soon, I wonder if issue will continue....
I notice other app, Sonic Boom, get updated by same publisher but not this app. Hmm hello?
UPDATE: I am currently using iPhone 6s+ running iOS 13.x it seems to work staying connected but now, I don’t know because I am not home yet but I did notice nothing happened yesterday when I get notifications on my iPhone so I am guessing BT got disconnected and need reestablishing.
UPDATE: 08.14.2020
Thank you for getting back to me last Oct. and after updating to 1.2 which was released 5 months ago. I had same problems as mentioned previously. Then I realized it was the AirPort Extreme that was in the line of sight. Which interferes the BT connection so I moved it out of the way. Both are in the bedroom. I have two AirPort Extreme connected. So it stay connected and working while I was working from home but the recent iOS update seems to make the app non-workable as I get no alert from either text or call. Also FYI I never see any notification from the app itself as shown in the screenshots you shared here. Like Door for example. I had to get up to look at the Homeaware but I now know which depending on light flash. I was able to identify three types from homeaware but still nothing on the app itself. And since iOS 14 is almost out as there’s a public beta out. I don’t have that installed on my iPhone yet just the iOS 13.6.1 and hope you get it sorted out.
