About

Homecast for iOS is the companion to Homecast for Mac. It extends your HomeKit setup with features the standard Home app doesn't offer - API access, webhooks, shareable links, and AI assistant integration. The Homecast Mac app runs on your home network and connects to your HomeKit devices. This iOS app then provides an additional dashboard to access Homecast Features. WHAT HOMECAST ADDS - REST and GraphQL APIs for your HomeKit devices - Webhooks — get notified when device states change - API tokens scoped to specific homes - Share access via link (with optional passcode) — no Apple ID required - Invite people with role-based permissions (admin, control, view-only) - Connect AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT via MCP and OAuth The dashboard itself works similarly to the Home app - you can view and control your devices, organised by home and room. It also supports custom collections, compact mode, and background customisation. REQUIRES HOMECAST FOR MAC This app requires the Homecast Mac app running on your home network. Download it separately to get started. Free tier includes up to 10 accessories. Subscribe for unlimited. What's New in Homecast App

1.1.6

August 14, 2026

Relay reliability • The app now notices when its own page or its link to Apple Home has stopped answering, and reloads itself — instead of sitting connected but doing nothing until you restart it. • One unresponsive accessory can no longer hold up a whole request. Automations • Virtual accessories: switches, modes, counters, timers, numbers, text and dates your automations can set and read back, so they can remember things between runs. • Notifications carry the icon of the automation that sent them. Community mode • MQTT publishes device state as documented, including accessories that don't belong to a room. Fixes • Pressing Enter now finishes editing a text field. • The top of the page is no longer clipped in a short window.
