About
Home Energy Lens helps you understand a property’s energy performance before you buy, rent, let or renovate.
Search a home and turn public EPC data into a clear, plain-English property energy report. See the current EPC rating, potential rating, certificate age, likely improvement areas, indicative heat-loss risk, and useful questions to ask before making a property decision.
Whether you are viewing a home, comparing rentals, managing a landlord portfolio, or planning improvements, Home Energy Lens gives you a calmer way to understand what the public data says.
What you can check
• Current EPC rating
• Potential EPC rating
• Certificate date and source freshness
• Property type and floor area where available
• Heating, insulation, windows, roof and lighting indicators where available
• EPC-linked improvement recommendations where available
• Indicative heat-loss and retrofit risk
• Buyer, renter, homeowner and landlord question prompts
• Nearby public sale context where available
• Saved homes and local refresh history
• Exportable property reports with source notes and limitations
Built for property decisions
Use Home Energy Lens when you are:
• Viewing a property
• Comparing homes before making an offer
• Checking a rental before signing
• Planning insulation or heating upgrades
• Reviewing a landlord portfolio
• Preparing questions for an agent, seller, landlord or contractor
• Saving homes to revisit later
Plain-English reports
Energy certificates can be difficult to interpret. Home Energy Lens translates key public data points into clear cards, checklists and report sections, helping you understand:
• What the current rating suggests
• How far the home may be from its potential rating
• Which improvement areas may matter most
• Whether the certificate is old or missing key data
• What to ask before you rely on the information
Saved homes and local refresh
Save properties to your watchlist and refresh them from public sources when you return to the app. Home Energy Lens stores saved homes and generated reports locally on your device.
Background refresh depends on iOS availability and device settings. The app does not claim continuous monitoring.
Important limitations
Home Energy Lens uses public energy certificate and property transaction data where available. It is not a building survey, valuation, legal opinion, mortgage advice, rental compliance decision, or guarantee of energy costs or heat loss.
Indicative heat-loss and retrofit-risk labels are interpretations of available public data, not measured thermal assessments. Always check important property decisions with qualified professionals.
Public records may be missing, old, replaced, incomplete or unavailable for some properties.
