Funktioniert leider nicht mehr.

Ich nutze HomeRun mehrere Jahre. Mir ist auch bewusst, dass Apple es nicht einfach macht.

i have no idea…

…how to use this app, how it’s supposed to work, or how to even figure out either of those things bc there are no clear, user-friendly instructions to be found. 🤷‍♀️

Brilliant concept and execution lacks stability

The watchface grids on this app are first class and when they are working it's really good. Cons:Functionality is limited to scenes only and the app can be unstable. If it crashes generally a reinstall is needed which wipes all the grids as they are not backed to iCloud. Also switches in scenes do not have the ability to sense when a device switches off and work randomly. The Developer explained this is due to Apple not sharing this capability with app outside Apple apps. Hopefully this might resolve one of these days. It would also be really good to be able to trigger shortcuts which is not possible at the moment

Too buggy to use

Used to love v1 but v2 is buggy and unusable. The complication editor with the draggable rings around the clock doesn’t respond smoothly to touch and the icons sometimes appear in random places.

There are no available scenes from the action set or grid options when I try to select what I want each segment to do.

This is not to mention that it is super tedious to set up actions in the first place, needing to set up each scene THREE times if I want common actions to appear in a grid, widget, and complication.

Please reach out to support. In our testing, this works as expected. If no scenes are showing, this signals to me that HomeKit access was not granted.

HomeRun

Upgraded to plus for 1 month as couldn’t control more than one device. After paid upgrade still doesn’t work so unless fixed I shall cancel subscription and get a refund. Nice idea poorly executed and no instructions

App not working again

And the problem has happened again 😑

Previous review: Latest update has stopped the widgets working. Now I just have multiple blank green squares - have restarted the phone, deleted and readded the widgets but still doesn’t work. It’s now completely useless. Shouldn’t break the basic functionality from a small bug fixing update!

crippled app

This app used to be great until the developer released v2 and then basically killed most of the functionality unless you pay …. someone didn’t think this through because I won’t be using this app just like many other people. Good luck!

Response from developer

Hi, The majority of the features are actually free in v2. You get everything that v1 offers for free in fact.

Not dependable, app or Apple - who knows

I use HomeRun primarily to allow me to control lights in my bedroom at night when my phone is not handy. Randomly the watch app stops working. The period of the random behavior can be weeks or a couple of months . But it occurs and there is no obvious way to figure out why it is failing.

Typical of apps these days. Just FYI

Hi, Please reach out to support for help. This is due to an Apple bug where the Watch and Phone have issues caused by OS updates that break linked identifiers. This has been fixed as of the latest update.

Overengineered junk

All I want to do is make a lamp turn on at a given time. Neither the Apple Home App nor this subscription-based third party app can manage that simple request. Brilliant.

Response from developer

Hi, This review is unrelated to any features of my app. To turn on a light at a given time, you can use the Apple Home app with automations.

Bien mais ne fonctionne plus !

Bien mais vient de s’arrêter brutalement de fonctionner sans explication.

Le dev petit-il m’expliquer pourquoi ?

Response from developer

Hi, HomeRun 1 was sunset in June 2020. HomeRun 2 was released at this point as a new version of the app and seperate upgrade/sale price. Please reach out to me via support and I'll be more than happy to discuss this further. Thanks, Aaron

too complicated

no tutorial or instructions. not user friendly.

Response from developer

Hi, Reach out to our support and I’d be more than happy to help you. We find it rare that a user requires a guide for the app but I’d love to hear what you need guidance with so I can think of a way to make it clearer in the future. - Aaron

Nice app

Works well!

Broken

This app is completely broken.
Sync doesn’t work properly. Apple Watch app doesn’t realizes the subscription und of course there is no option for starting the sync manually. Just like Apple’s design.
Complications are not listed in the complications list.

Redundant

Why the first app, it does little to want to sign up for the upgrade, and leaves the impression that the upgrade will be no better the HomeKit at the moment.

Response from developer

Hi, I’m not sure why you finding the app not worth paying for is worthy of a one star review? Many other customers have happily paid for the app. Under the paid features you gain many things such as widgets, multiple grids, multiple complications. - Aaron

Words not allowed

Grabbed this to set up a HomeKit widget in my iPhone. Generally works well but it doesn’t let you actually use text to label your widget buttons, just a single icon. I have four buttons that control different lights and for the life of me I can’t keep track of which icon does what.

Response from developer

Hi, HomeRun doesn’t advertise text buttons as a feature at this time. I do plan to add support for text in buttons in the future, but it is a hard problem to fit well on such a small interface such as the Watch. The purpose of the icons/colours is to choose a combination that you can remember and associate with a set scene.

Complications

I cannot get the complications to work at all. I can’t even figure how they're supposed to work. How about some instructions?? I can find anywhere at all. All I can set up is the HomeRun app icon as a complication - the infograph complication doesn’t work.

Update: thanks for the response, Developer. A reboot did the trick. I’m still figuring out how to set the complications to change over time (I’ll get there in the end, but some instructions somewhere would have been welcome…!). Nice app though.

Response from developer

Hi, Simply create a complication within the iOS app, then select that named complication in the Complication list on your Watch to utilise it. If it doesn't show on the list, try rebooting your device, Apple's complication system can be a bit buggy in refreshing reliably. If this fails, please feel free to reach out to me via the support links in the app as always. - Aaron

Dev bit off more than they could chew on v2

The original version of this app was probably the most used app on my watch, so I was excited to grab this sequel to it. Sadly, this one needed a bit more time in beta. There are several annoying interface bugs, including it being nearly impossible to arrange actions in your grid, and glitches on the complication ring schedule tool (if you rotate things enough the icon in the arc will start glitching around). Several other features just straight up don’t work despite restarts and reinstalls. Fingers crossed this gets ironed out, but I’d hold off on a sub until it gets polished.

Hi, I'd love to have you reach out via the in-app support channel so that I can actually help you. Reviews aren't a good channel for support as developers cannot reply more than once. - Aaron
