What's New in Homesteader Helper

1.11

Two bugs that have been fixed: 1) The animal detail screen did not display properly when the phone is set to dark mode. 2) Attempted saves of text values on number fields caused a crash situation.

Needs regular updates but a good start for a livestock app

This app has plenty of potential for creating an awesome record keeping database. There are a few things I’d like to see in an update, such as:
- Ability to add multiple animals at once with the same data. I don’t want to have to individually add 15 entries that are all goats, all female and all Myotonic and have to change that on all of the entries
- More log entry options. I’d love a customizable entry, where I can change the name to its own genre
- Most recent logs. A space on the app where I can view all of my recent logs to make sure I didn’t miss any of the animals.
- Ability to add entries to multiple animals at a time. Sometimes I vaccinate a whole group of animals. It’s hard to go through and individually add each vaccination to each animal.
- Syncing across devices. I use this app on my iPhone and my iPad and it doesn’t update my changes between devices. Meaning if I want current records on both, I have to manually edit them individually.

Overall, I’m very excited to have something to use for record keeping on my mobile device!

A great App but can I save or print data?

This is exactly what I need for my small farm but haven’t figured out if I can print or save data. If my iPad dies do I lose all records?

Apps not working right

I’ve had this app for about a month and it was working great but I tried to add some new animals to it and it wouldn’t save or show what I was writing

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear that. Check to see if it was a problem related to dark mode being on.

Mostly satisfied

So far I believe this app will be able to help me keep track of what I am wanting. It would be nice if you could change the tabs/images or rearrange them as I have pigs too. And with how this is currently set up I would have to tittle them as either cattle or something if I want to just look at them or just look at the chickens, etc. and not look at everything at once.
Maybe an idea for an update? :)

Response from developer

That is a good suggestion. One tip for you - you can categorize the pigs as “other” and that will allow you to filter to some degree by those animals that don’t otherwise have a specific category.

So close

This is a great idea but i was unable to figure out how to make it work. It wouldn’t let me add details or delete and animal. I so wanted this to work😓

Response from developer

Feel free to reach out to me by email. If you swipe left on an animal, you’ll get an option to delete.
