What's New in Hone
1.2
August 20, 2026
Better advice, and a table that tells the truth. STRONGER PREFLOP ADVICE • Fixed the biggest strategy error in the app: it folded far too much to re-raises. From the button it kept only 18% of the hands it told you to open, which is little enough that an opponent re-raising with any two cards profited. Every seat now defends properly, and out of position it four-bets rather than calling. • Advice facing a re-raise now accounts for who re-raised you and whether you'll play the rest of the hand in position. It previously ignored both. • Bets are no longer priced against chips your opponent doesn't have. RANGE CHARTS, ANY TIME • A new reference in Learn: opening, three-betting, calling, and facing a three-bet, for every seat. The same charts the engine grades you against, so what you study and what you're scored on cannot drift apart. MORE HANDS, FEWER QUIZZES • Added playable spots to the lessons that only had multiple choice. Pot odds now has two hands rather than none, deliberately opposite: one where the draw is the reason to call, one where it isn't and the price decides. • Expected value, reading boards, and blockers now ask you to use what they just taught. THE TABLE NOW SHOWS WHAT'S TRUE • Practice and Assessment hands show every seat's real state: who folded, who hasn't acted yet, and what the blinds have posted. Nobody folds ahead of the first player to act any more. • The opponent's chips show what THEY bet, not what it costs you to call. • Every spot now shows stack depth. A call that's routine 100bb deep can be most of a short stack, and you couldn't see which you were in. SIZING YOU CAN READ • Raise buttons say "to 57", because that's what a raise is: a total, not an amount added on top. Facing a bet, a pot-size raise is always bigger than the pot, and now it looks like it on purpose. • Added a 2x pot size at the table, and the coach can now recommend an overbet. It used to stop just above pot size, which quietly capped how hard it would ever tell you to apply pressure. • It bets bigger for value against players who never fold, and still won't bluff them. CORRECTIONS • Fixed a preflop hand whose pot was half a big blind short. • Fixed the setup text on two hands that claimed players had folded to you from seats that act after you. • You can now rate Hone from inside Hone. Sharper math, straighter answers. GRADING YOU CAN TRUST MORE • The fold model now works from the correct break-even point and respects what's actually in each range, so bluffs and hero-folds are judged fairly. • Aggression is no longer graded as if it were free: raises are checked against what they risk, not just what they might win. • Equities are computed by exact enumeration instead of sampling, verified against published tables. • Fixed a case where a refunded bet was graded as if it had been lost. SMARTER ADVICE • Advice now accounts for who you're facing: the better play against a calling station isn't the better play against a nit. • Preflop three-bet guidance considers the position you'd play the rest of the hand from. BETTER LESSONS • The lesson reader is redesigned: cleaner frames, clearer typography, and visual hand diagrams. • Corrected several content errors found in a full cross-check, including an inconsistent pot-counting convention. A FAIRER FIRST ASSESSMENT • The ten-hand assessment now draws a balanced mix of spots, so your starting level reflects your actual game.
