The app works fine now. The quality of the journalism is some of the finest in the city and, quite likely, the region, which is a lot to say considering the current state of affairs.

Great newspaper, great app update
This excellent independent news source once had a great app, but for a long time failed to update it and the app became non-functional. This is the reason for many poor reviews. I am very happy to see this new app update; HKFP app is once again a reliable and trusted source of news in a rapidly evolving city-state.

I’m having the same problem just a blank screen, it worked fine when I lived in HK but since moving back to the UK nothing.
App won’t work
Nothing shows up when I open the app save the 3 navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. Otherwise it’s just a blank white screen.

App installs fine but when it starts up there is just a blank screen. Nothing happens however long I wait. It’s a shame as the screenshots in the App Store look great!

I would love to use this app and read the HKFP but the app does not work. I have tried deleting and re-loading it and that did not work either.

Total waste of time, app doesn’t work as all you get is a blank screen. Maybe that’s why it’s free, or maybe there no free news left out there.
Great newspaper, awful UI
The UI makes the app almost impossible to navigate, with huge load times, only forward/back/reload navigation instead of menus. Not worth downloading at all, just read through your browser.
Eclipses the SCMP
Fantastic app. Very topical to HK and great opinion pieces. A must have for the English-speaking citizen in HK.
