About

Can you really trust who's on the other end? AI can clone any voice in 3 seconds. Phone numbers can be spoofed. Video calls can be faked. Hongi gives you and your contacts a simple way to prove you're really you — every time. HOW IT WORKS: 1. Pair once — scan a QR code in person, or send an invite link 2. Each person gets a secret codeword that changes every 30 seconds 3. On any call, read your word aloud — they read theirs 4. Both words match? It's really them. No match? Hang up. WHY HONGI: • Two words, not one — each person sees a different codeword, so even someone listening in can't fake it • Silent identity check — suspect a scammer? Tap one button to ping your real contact. They confirm or deny without the caller knowing • Works everywhere — phone calls, video calls, messaging, in person • No accounts, no sign-up — install and pair in 30 seconds • Offline after pairing — codewords work without internet • End-to-end secure — your secrets never leave your device • Biometric lock — Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint • 15 languages — codewords in your language WHO IT'S FOR: • Parents protecting family from phone scams • Anyone verifying a date before meeting • Professionals confirming client identity on calls • Journalists and sources who need to trust the line • Anyone worried about deepfake voice and video Free. No account. No data collected. Just cryptographic proof that you are you.

A reliability pass focused on remote pairing and identity-check notifications. The biggest win: invite links now open the right screen on every install instead of silently dropping you on Home. • Remote pairing actually works from a tapped link — invites you receive in WhatsApp, Messages, or any app should now reliably open straight into the verification screen on every supported device. The old "tap link, app opens, but you land on Home" failure mode is fixed both for senders running this version and for anyone they invite. • Identity-check notifications no longer silently drop — if your phone is in your pocket when someone checks your identity, the response now reliably gets back to them, even if your app got suspended in the background or killed by the OS in the meantime. • Quicker recovery from notification problems — if you'd previously turned Hongi notifications off in Settings, the app now shows a one-tap reminder on the home screen so you don't miss verification requests. The reminder disappears as soon as you re-enable. • Tap to copy a security word — on the identity-check screen, tap your own word to copy just that word with a brief "Copied" confirmation. Mirrors the same behaviour we shipped on the SAS grid in the last version. • Cancel actually cancels after a tapped invite link — fixed an issue where opening the app from a pairing invite left you unable to back out of the verification step. • Longer-running verifications retry sooner — if your phone briefly loses signal mid-check, the app now retries within seconds when you regain connectivity, instead of waiting until the next time you open the app. • Localization fixes — long button text in Dutch and other languages no longer clips outside the button. • Stability and battery tweaks under the hood — fewer redundant network calls during normal use, especially right after launch.
