Way better than its sequels
I played this after playing Super Quick Hook and Hook Worlds. It’s far better.
Hook Champ
Can not progress on Monkey Island stage 2, the game just keeps crashing about halfway through the stage.
iOS 18.whatever is most current as of 12-20-24, iPhone 13. 🤷🏻
Other than that…. It only crashes occasionally…. So it’s not as bad as most other Game Club games at the moment. Hate that TA went defunct.

Great game since day one
I bought this game when it first came out still love it now. Just sad I can’t get the crown hat anymore.
Best in Class
Hook Champ is by far the single best platformer for iPhone. The controls make sense, the levels have a nice ladder of difficulty, and it’s genuinely fun to play.
An old favorite, still every bit as good
I bought Hook Champ many many years ago, possibly on my old 3GS. After several years away from iOS, I came back with the iPhone 13 Pro Max and it’s the first thing I downloaded. I’m happy to report that it is every bit as fun as I remembered it, and still runs beautifully on modern phones. For years, this has been the gold standard that I judge all other mobile games by, and I’m so so so happy to have it back. The grapple-hookin’ is a ton of fun, and the progression is very satisfying. Rocketcat’s follow ups were fantastic too, but nothing beats the original!
