Unhooked- don’t waste your time
I had points saved up to read stories, opened the app today and it’s changed to subscription $9.99 a week. I’m so angry and annoyed. $40 a month? nah.
Disappointed.
You have to pay a subscription in order to access the app which was understandable at first I suppose. It wasn’t until after I gained access in the app when I realized everything is Ai. Every story and every cover??? Why? Not to mention how the stories I went through were so underwhelming.
Would do zero stars if optional
I used to LOVE this app, it was fun and interactive, I loved being able to make my own horror text stories. I went to download it again for the nostalgia and now you need to pay $10 a week to even access it? That is the most insane ask I’ve ever seen from an app. You also offer a free 1 week trial, but when I went to use the free week it automatically tried to charge my card? (Luckily my card is locked when not in use) this is so sad to see. I hate seeing apps that I loved as a teen get so money hungry. You didn’t need to do that, and you knew it. This is unfortunate, and I hope you’re reading these reviews and taking them into deep consideration.

Too expensive
Having to pay $10 per week to even have access to the app is insane. That’s over $500 a year for horror stories. Immediately uninstalled

Use to be the best app
This app used to have stories that actually spiked my adrenaline. Now, all this app is, is a money grab. You have to pay $9.99 just to get anything. Worst thing they could have done to this app.
$9.99 a week?
I remember when this app was completely free to use. I decided to redownload it because I had not used it in a few years and figured why not. After seeing that I had to pay to even get to any stories I deleted the app again. I did go and read some other reviews and am glad I did not opt to pay because I suppose there is a huge increase of AI stories and I do not superhero use of AI. I just wanted my cute free story app back but I guess companies just like being greedy with money than actually keeping their apps the same when all users initially enjoyed them.

Forced subscription
I haven’t been able to use the app for a while and after updating, the only option is to sign up for a $9.99 weekly subscription?!! I won’t be re installing this app.
Worst update, want my stories back
Don’t know what AI trash this is, but I miss the old version of this app when it was real stories which now I can’t access and are all gone. 1) the app won’t open on my phone(it stays stuck on the blinking owl eyes), 2) when I try to access on my iPad I can’t create a login. It forces me to use my Apple ID and to only sign up for the $9.99/week subscription, so I can no longer access my already purchased stories. Again, all gone. And no idea if those stories are anywhere else. The worst.

Miss the old app features
When I was like 12 this app was free and then all of a sudden I want to download it and now you’re gonna tell me, I have to pay to look at words on stories that are sometimes not finished please bring back the free feature
Money hungry
Nowadays especially in this economy I don’t need to add another subscription to my paycheck. You can’t even login to see the apps stories, there are no ads or free stories you might as well just be paying for the app in the AppStore because you can’t listen without paying first.

I have this app for a while now; however for the past 2 or 3 was is not working…. Every time I clicked on it, the app eyes pop but does IT; never goes to the stories or anything… any ideas about what it’s going on??
No longer free
After spending hours reading on this app, I can no longer finish what I started because subscriptions are mandatory. I’ll be deleting it.
No longer works
All of a sudden I’m unable to login. One device will not even let it upload. The other stalls on forcing me to sign up for a trial. I’ve purchased several books on this app yet cannot access anything now. Fix it! Otherwise it’s turned into a bad scam.
Not working
Hooked stopped working weeks ago, maybe months. Every time I try, it doesn’t open. I used to like the app. It’s too bad.
