About

Boot up the PIXELON 64. Type LOAD "HOP",8,1 — or just tap SHIFT+RUN/STOP, the way you did when you were a kid — and hop your way home. HOP! 8-Bit is a lovingly recreated retro arcade for iPhone and iPad. Five lanes of traffic. A river full of logs and turtles. Five home slots at the top. One frog, three lives, and a stopwatch that never stops running. ▸ AUTHENTIC 8-BIT LOOK The full home-computer experience — beige case, blue CRT, chunky pixel sprites, and a scanline glow that hides no crime. It boots with the familiar READY. prompt, complete with a blinking cursor. ▸ HOP IN ONE TAP On the real thing, you held SHIFT and pressed RUN/STOP to auto-boot the first program on tape. HOP! 8-Bit honors that shortcut with a big yellow button. One tap and you're playing. ▸ PROGRESSIVE ROUNDS Round 1 runs at 30% speed so you can learn the timing. Each cleared board speeds things up. By round 6 you're at base arcade tempo, and it keeps climbing. ▸ PLAY YOUR WAY Swipe up/down/left/right to hop. Or plug in a keyboard — arrow keys and WASD both work. Portrait for typing, landscape for full-screen action. ▸ SID-STYLE SOUND Every chirp and bloop is a square wave, synthesized live. No sample files, no bloat — just the sound of a real 8-bit chip. ▸ HAPTICS Every hop, every splat, every home slot filled — you feel it. ▸ THE PIXELON 64 An original creation — the PIXELON 64 is our tribute to every beige box that took over the family room in 1982. It runs PIXEL BASIC V2.0, has 64K of RAM, and 38,911 bytes free. Made by an 80s kid who missed the sound of a datasette. Enjoy.

Hop stats! The game now anonymously tracks rounds, homes, and BASIC commands so we can tune difficulty and add the modes you actually play. Same 8-bit action, smarter roadmap.
