Stuck, but got through

I love these games!

Really fun game

These kinds of games are great. You can complete them without spending tons of time, or getting bored and deleting the game.

The puzzles are actually FUN to figure out, unlike the games that are designed to make you watch Ad after Ad to get hints so that you can complete them (Escape Room games are notorious for this).

I don’t think that it’s even possible to watch an ad in this game, though there is a Premium version for those people who want to support the developer.

Great job!

Great game!

This one has to be the best one in the series, it’s the biggest one at least. I found it interesting that the choices of occupation will affect the ending. Great work!

Rather Watch paint dry

Way to create the most boring and pointless game. There is no substance. I am glad it doesn't cost money you should pay the player to have to play this its so bad

Another success

The story that began in Horror in the Darkness continues in the Pacific, where our hero visits a mysterious island to help solve some disappearances. I love these games and I only wish the developer would make more.

Play them all it’s worth it

So glad I found these. If you’re in Lovecraft, cosmic horror these are a must

Text based games rock

With so many over produced, flashy, graphics-driven games out there, it is so refreshing to go back to the 1980s when texted adventures were the thing. The true charm is you get to use your imagination. It’s like an escape room and a book and the fabulous excitement of using your imagination all in one. Bravo! So good!

Great Text Based Adventure

This is a good text based adventure. Challenging but forgiving. Brilliant that there using ads every three steps. Worth a download and try. I will be trying the other chapters of story available now.

Good, marred by a few bugs

Entertaining continuation of the “Horror in the darkness” series. This is the third in the series (it’s a bit weird that they aren’t numbered, but the order is: Darkness, Innsport, Pacific, Hobbsgate). The tone of this entry is quite different from the previous two. It blends the previous “Lovecraft monster” story with a (sadly rather generic) Tiki-lite Cannibal plot that entertains, but doesn’t maintain the unsettling tone of “Innsport”.

The redeeming feature is that the map is much bigger and the puzzles are somewhat better than previous entries.

There is a bug that only appears in the final act: once the villain has been revealed, and your character has resolved to kill him, the hints system glitches out, causing the game to lock up if you try to ask for help. The game can still be completed from this point (and the final act doesn’t really require any hints to solve), but I’d let’s down an otherwise rather polished game.

Another excellent entry in the series!

Fun twist on this ever evolving storyline. Enjoyed the new setting and the new characters. Not as creepy as the others, but still suspenseful and the plot definitely keeps you on your toes. Definitely recommend.

Great games

This game series is fantastic. My one reason for lowering the star count is that this particular installment has so many typos and errors that I was distracted. But other than that it is a great series.

Great little Lovecraftian text adventure

Loved this creepy little game. Fun and easy to play on my 5S. Holds true to the genre and the old Zork format as well.

Bugs

It’s a great game but at the same part (where you need to get the fuse) I would try to save it and the option bar freezes every time. I would close out the app and it would do the same thing. Please fix

Great series of games

This game and the others in the series are challenging, fun, and exist in a universe that truly does feel Lovecraftian. If you liked this game, definitely check out the others by the same developers. I sincerely hope they continue making more games like these!

Can’t put it down

Great game-was really hard to put down and upgrading was an easy choice.

Ran into a couple of bugs that froze the game while playing, happy to reproduce those if Devs want.

Great atmosphere during the game, music and story writing was superb and didn’t go overboard on too many details but let it build itself and use the reader imagination. A bit dark souls-ish.

One gripe - some of the items disappeared after use and some didn’t without explanation why so ended up wasting lots of time trying to use old items again and again when I was stuck.

Also, some of the clues and progression points were very non-intuitive and based on “common knowledge” that are not very common knowledge outside of certain generations/geographies. For example, using the sugar correctly would be outside the intuitive knowledge of many younger or foreign players.

Overall, though, fantastic game. Can’t wait for the next one.

Incredible

Quite possibly the best of the games to date. Stays true to the lovecraftian theme while also remaining fresh

An entertaining game

I had fun playing this, exploring all the locations and figuring out how to solve various puzzles. I'm at the very end of the game though and I'm stuck. I think i need to use fireworks with the ledge but i can't figure out got how to do so. Also, at this point in the game, when i press hints, the program dies and i need to restart it. Any suggestions?

BTW, i just bought the next game in the series, Madness at Hobbsgate, so that's my endorsement of all of these games!

Good - seems glitch

After cutting lokata tree seems there is a glitch that I can not longer pickup tree/wood and not in my inventory. When I go back no sign of tree either....

Fun game

Fun to discover the ins and outs.

Absolutely love it!

Reminds me of the old school game my mum used to play on our Commodore 64 when I was a little kid! There is nothing I don't love about it though I've been so frustrated many times already! Gruesome storyline, lots of mystery it's awesome!
