What's New in HostLog
1.1
May 15, 2026
v1.1 - Polish + reliability Privacy framing Records live in HostLog on your iPhone, included in your standard iOS device backup. v1.0 offered optional iCloud sync; v1.1 ships fully local-only. If you had sync turned on in v1.0, your records remain on this device; export a JSON archive (Settings, Your data) to keep a portable copy. Your data - New: Export JSON backup writes a portable archive of every text record to Files, mail, or AirDrop. Photos travel with your Photos library separately. - New: Import JSON backup reads a previously-exported archive and merges by record ID. Existing records with the same ID get updated; new ones get added. Nothing is deleted by the import. Delete and recovery - Every record type (property, stay, damage, inspection, deadline, communication) now has a Delete button at the bottom of its Edit form. Damage records and stays were not deletable in v1.0 - they are now. - Every destructive action shows a confirmation alert before firing. Tap Delete, confirm the alert, then the record moves to Recently Deleted. - Recently Deleted shows a visible Restore button on each row. v1.0 only exposed Restore as a left-swipe gesture that most users never discovered. - After deleting a record from its Edit form, the parent detail page closes cleanly instead of staying on the stale view. Damage Claim Builder PDF - The Communication Timeline section renders your real logged communications, sorted by date, with sender, method, and contact context. v1.0 printed a placeholder note here. - Damage photo captions no longer overlay the image. The EXIF capture timestamp sits in its own caption strip beneath each photo. Bug fixes - Resolution picker on the damage edit form now shows the selected option in the row. - Logging a damage now creates the two automatic deadlines (claim filing window, support escalation window). v1.0 had the calculator built but never wired it up, so the Deadlines tab stayed empty. - Photo grid no longer crashes when removing pending photos in rapid succession. - Reference photos section in the property edit form no longer reserves a blank row before any photo is added.
