I love this app
I never bother with a score sheet anymore. This app is so easy to set up scoring on the fly, or pre-load your favorite courses.
It’s as easy as pulling up your course, adding your shooters’ names and you are ready to go. I love how easily it tracks each station, and stores your history so you can see how you are progressing over time. I recommend it to everyone I see on the course.
Did I mention that it keeps you moving faster? Too many times I am waiting behind large groups trying to fill in their score sheets with 2-3 groups backing up behind them. With this app I can literally hold my phone in one hand and the station trigger in the other and tap hits or misses without even having to look at the screen. By the time we are done shooting our station, our scores are already saved and we are ready to move on.

I would give this a 5 but I have email support and have yet to get a response a week later..
Great app
I’ve been using the app as an individual for a couple years now, which has been great. More recently using the premium version to run my club’s sporting clays league with much success. Transitioned away from paper sheets that were unreadable and at times wet & soggy. Requested an export change from the developer who was extremely responsive and helpful in making the suggested change. Thanks

2026.19 update
Not a fan of the new update. I entered 2 different groups for skeet that each group shot 6 rounds but it does not separate the groups anymore it's just logged as round 1 through 12 instead of group 1 rounds 1-6 and group 2 rounds 1 - 6.
When I entered one group for trap and they shot 8 different rounds of trap. The rounds somehow was mixed up and not logged in the order that they were shot. However when I open the app up on another device with the 2026.1 version the rounds are in the correct order as they were logged. It's when I open the app up on a device that has the new 2026.19 version that it showed the rounds out of order and the graph under the persons name is also out of order of how the scores were actually logged.

Some of the updates are nice, but the iPads and phones do not sync. What’s with the “New Series” vs a “New Event”?

Best tool for visualizing and showing the shooter what stations they need to address and work on.

I don’t like the new update
I do not like the update that does not keep you squad in place. I have to re-select and move posts, yardages every round.

Latest update 6/2026 made the app look fancier but stripped all useful features making it useless.
This mistake will cost the developer a lot of money.

Changes
Lot of nice changes being made to the app, just having difficulty in figuring out how to use them properly. Seems like you can choose multiple throwers now, but cannot change the names from A,B,C, etc and have it save properly. Also sharing info has become more cumbersome along with editing of courses. May just be my learning curve; happy to see changes, would be Evan happier if I knew how to use them

Liked the old version better
I’ve used Hot Clays since 2021, was super happy with the free version for keeping score while shooting with my buddies. Since they changed the layout I’ve been very disappointed with the inability to change the course on the go. Wish I could get the old one back.
Disappointed
The new update has remove many of the desired features of the previous version. The new update has rendered this app incredibly less useful. As a paid subscriber, I am very disappointed.
Destroyed easy adding stations
Horrible update has destroyed any way to add stations as you go.
Bad Updates
The recent updates have broken a lot of the previous functionality of the app. Lots of broken statistics. Loss of previously saved guns and ammo. No ability to filter things through saved guns/ammo or yardages.
I’m actually upset that I had JUST renewed my paid premium membership just to have lost a lot of previously saved data. I would NOT purchase the paid subscription for this at all!!
I plan on emailing the developer with a list of issues with the app, but I do not plan ever receiving a response.

Writing this for version 2026.14
I loved this app before the update and was recommending to anyone I shot with.
But now they’ve gone and messed with a good thing.
Firstly, you now have to register which is annoying and makes me fear that ads/ mandatory subscription is coming.
Second, it seems that you can’t start a new sheet without internet connection. This is app is for clay shooting; an activity that takes place in remote areas often with poor phone signal so if I can’t connect to 4/5G then it won’t let me start a new card.
Thirdly, it used to be such that you would keep the discipline scores separate which I liked but now my skeet, sporting and sport trap scores all sit together making it more difficult to compare what I had done before.
Fourth, it seems to be really difficult to set up the courses. I used to have a couple of default courses for the different grounds I went to and then I could just start another using the template next time I went. But because the stands move around (e.g. one week stand 4 might be a 4 pair on report and the next it might be a 5 pair sim) it was very easy to adjust - just go in to the edit button, click on the stand and remove or add a pair. Now it seems as though it’s locked them in so you can’t change it without creating an entire new course set up (or if you can change it easily, it’s not easy to see how).
Please just undo all these changes and go back to how it was a month ago. If not, I’m going to have to try and look for something else which would be a shame because I really enjoyed this app before these changes.

Beta for sure, in time will work.
Waiting for a search function, course identification, individual team scores, individual shooter scores for each course, etc………….
New login lost all my data
A recent new version forced me to log in and set a new password, and then lost 3 years of my son’s trap, skeet, and sporting clays scores. This app worked well, but losing all that data is unforgivable.
5 years worth of data gone!
What happened with this update. My son is a senior and suddenly the only data that shows up is from 2021. 5 years of keeping stats are gone!
