No land lord calls back
I call places or buildings and nobody ever picks up even if I leave a voicemail I’m never receiving a call back
10/10 better than competitors
HotPads is far a far better app and platform over the alternatives and has better filtration features, by far. The ONLY reason to use the evil top platform is because so many places do applications and messaging through it. All three main competitors’ apps are absolute unstable trash. Hell, I’d work for HotPads - with the right new features, they deserve to be the go-to housing platform.

Misleading.
Lists new units but complex has been around for years. Prices are always inaccurate. Seems they removed a lot of the direct websites. Little to know additional information is really on there just a bunch of pictures.
Fix Messages bug!
Great app, but it won’t show messages on the app from landlords you’ve contacted.

Not working correctly
Usually the app if fine but just recently all these places are up, all same price and all don’t show photos or anything. Like a glitch or something. I signed out and signed back in and even deleted and reinstalled but still the same. Hope they fix this.

I’ve been using this app to find places which has been helpful but every time I try to access my inbox in the app I keep getting an error message.
Can’t open messages
Just downloaded the app like an hr ago and the messages aren’t able to open I had my bf download it to see if it was my phone and it’s the app itself, it’s pretty useless if you can’t see the messages
Not credible listings.
I’ve applied to two listings. First of all, I had to pay for an application and it feels like they just took my money and ran. I reached out for a follow up with no response — it looks like the listing has not been rented out, and the link the app shares with me regarding this listing reads “error”. I would not recommend HotPads, I’m better off just driving around looking for “For Rent” signs!

App is completely broken
So worried that a bot would use their garbage app, they've made it completely unusable. Constantly asks you to verify you're not a bot until you give up on using the app. What a freaking joke.
Frustrated
Not sure how many of these posts are genuine. Just like the job market, I suspect the housing market is filled with scam posts. I have receive messages from landlords via email, but when I go to my profile on the app, there is nothing. Are fake posts driving engagement?
Glitchy
This app is challenging to use. Saved searches show no availability but there’s availability, saved search map boundaries change after saving (removing available properties from view), unable to delete save searches. They keep reappearing. Get notifications for properties I’m not interested in saying I’m interested, and multiple notifications for the same property in the same day. No way to view all the available properties for all your saved searches in one location. Have to click on each search area separately.

Good application
Very good idea
Used app for a month.
They sold my data and I have not stopped getting robot calls every day for 2-3 weeks.
