How to Sing Harmony User Reviews

No sound

Appealing concept. The sound does not work. Rebooted my phone. Reinstalled app. Still no sound.

Terrible. No sound.

I tried this app on the website and it worked perfectly, so I bought it on my phone for ease of use. Absolutely no sound. And yes, my sound is unmuted. I got it to work once, then switched to soprano and got nothing. It was only $1, but it’s still a waste.

Great idea but improvement needed

Great idea but if you are trying to read the music, the screen doesn’t move quick enough so not really much use. A good number of suitable tunes though.

Terrific Learning Tool

Does a great job of letting me hear the voices independently. Tempo control helps. The hymns are beauty filled. The printed score is a bit crowded by selection icons. I would like to read ahead on the lyrics while I sing. Reminds me of TouchPress’
App for Beethoven’s Ninth, where you can toggle orchestras while following the score on screen. I hope to see development of this fine app.

Disappointed

I was excited to find this app because I wanted to learn the alto part. I couldn’t get sound at first. I shutdown my phone and when it came back on, I got it to work—-once😐 I’ve tried deleting and reloading it. I’ve tried turning off and on my phone and different combinations of those actions but have yet to get it to work. There is no sound.

No sound

I just downloaded the app on my iPhone and got no sound. I shut it down and restarted my phone and still no sound. So disappointed.

Not for iPhone X

Cannot exit the program on iPhone X. Had to turn off my phone...

Response from developer

On an iPhone X, you can get to the home screen from within an app by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Since this app runs in landscape, keep in mind that it's the bottom of the "screen" not the bottom of the "phone". If you're having trouble, contact me on twitter @zachburnham

Updated

I was having issues getting no sound (not because it was muted!). It worked after I shutdown my phone and restarted it. Like being able to select just the alto.

Good app...

Just make sure your phone is not on vibrate/silent mode. :)

Sing harmony

This app does exactly what it states. It has a list of 70 popular Christian songs/hymns and breaks them down in 4 parts Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Base. You are able to mute any of the other parts to concentrate on the part you want to sing. I would have given 5 stars if the words/notes were not covered by the SATB keys on the left side. Also would be awesome if the notes you are singing would be highlighted. All in all it did what I needed it to do.

Don't waste your money.

Terrible app.

Super! Love this app!!

Bought this app to learn the alto part to hymns. The app has Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass parts that can all be turned on or off at any point. And many favorite hymns are included. Totally worth it!

It's great!

Very helpful. Sound works smoothly, and the interface is intuitive and elegant. Don't forget to take your phone off vibrate!

Doesn't work

Could not get sound to work on any free songs.

Response from developer

Anyone else who has this issue and sees this - you have to turn your phone off of "Mute" to turn on the sound (just like plenty of other apps!).

Promising, but too pricey

This is a promising app. It's great to hear each individual part for hymns. However, $1 per song is ridiculous, considering these are just midi files active could make with the free program Noteflight! Songs should be somewhere around 10 for $1. There's another pop song harmonization app out there that is more worth it at $1 per song... Because it has real singers singing the words and you have three choices for each singer: on, off, or low volume. Please lower the price for songs!!

Response from developer

The old version of this app had only a few in-app purchases, which were for large bundles of songs, so it was more than 10 for $1. But we have since lowered the price to be everything for $1, so that should do it :) $1 per song would be a total rip-off...

Almost good

This app has a lot of promise. The basic premise of being able to isolate harmony parts. But it has a totally debilitating flaw, which is that the in-app purchases are totally messed up. I tried to buy a song, then realized that what actually happened was that I bought a random song in the same category. You can't buy a specific song. Totally nuts, and ruins the app.

Response from developer

Sorry that in-app purchases are a pain, we thought so, too. Now every song comes with the app - no more in-app purchases necessary!

Doesn't work

I paid for nothing. Made in app purchase for Christmas songs, and it won't work. They won't load. I want my money back.

Can't access More Songs

The free songs are great so I bought More Songs but I can't get them.

No Sound!

First of all this APP chooses which 10 free songs you can view... Secondly, there is no sound when you try to play any song. Would be decent enough if it worked.

App

Amazing!! It helps me so much in learning proper harmonizations!
