Excellent product
We purchased this system for our mum who lives alone as a way of checking she was okay. It is excellent, we know if she’s made a drink or moved around her home and if the door has been opened. It is such a good system and given the family peace of mind as we all can monitor remotely. The customer service is also excellent, the staff are so patient and helpful and genuinely care about their customers.

Review of Howz Monitoring For Elderly System
I have found the Howz electronic system to be invaluable in helping to keep my elderly mother safe and myself reassured. Without the intrusion of cameras I can have an insight into her daily activities eg knowing when she goes to bed, gets up in the morning and makes herself a cup of tea. It even helps to prevent me from disturbing her sleep by phoning her, as it tells me when she is already up and about.

The hub is forever going down without this there is no information from the sensors. Very unreliable!!

Been using this for two years. Everything they say about this on their site is true. BUT what it can’t get across is just how brilliantly solid the system is.
Also the developer response is outstanding and it’s under active development. Check out the frequency of maintenance. This alone is a brilliant sign.

Keeps logging out
This is a brilliant app for monitoring my Mum.
However, at regular intervals (at least once a week) it logs out, and I have to re-enter username and password. Very annoying, and I can’t see any reason why it would be necessary. It doesn’t even remember the username.

Great reassurance
I’ve installed a Howz hub and sensors in my father’s home. What a great piece of kit. The family now receive notifications when he’s up, come downstairs and has put the kettle on. This gives us the assurance that he’s up and ok, rather than waiting for him to phone one of us, and sometimes forgetting to do so. The app is really easy to use and provides a range of useful information. Unreservedly recommended.

Fantastic resource
Howz has been such a comfort for me whilst Dad has been locked down on his own during this weird year. Without intrusion I can ‘clock’ his movements throughout his home and get essential warnings if there is low activity. An amazing resource, maintaining a loved one’s independence and getting early warnings when needed. The team at Howz are lovely people who really care. Very good system. Very easy to install for even the least techy of people. Fantastic value. Thank you Team Howz 👍🏼

Howz has kept my Mum safe!
This has been a great app to help protect and keep my mother safe. We installed Howz about two years ago when we became increasingly concerned about her worsening dementia. The app has been able to alert us when she opened her front door, and also to monitor how disturbed, or otherwise, she has been through the night. In combination with video recording Howz provides activity times to check via video what happened. Howz has allowed us an extra year of keeping Mum on her own home. It's been a great help to support a great quality of life for her.

Have being using this app for almost 2 years now, as a means to check on my elderly father. It’s a brilliant way to know that’s everything’s OK with him, he’s up and about, he got home safely, etc. We call him almost every day, but this brings another dimension to checking he’s OK. He’d never wear one of those pendant alarms, so Howz is just perfect for him.

Would not open after the latest update but now fixed
An update that was supposed to provide an urgent fix to something that had not bothered me changed this from an app that used to work to one that will not open at all! Since the purpose is for me to be able to keep an eye on my 92 year old mother this was really not good.
However this was fixed quite in the next release (I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work) and I did get a reply from the developers to tell me this, which was a good recovery.
Otherwise I have found this app genuinely useful in reassuring me about my Mum’s welfare. That was why I was unhappy to lose it. We got it as part of an NHS trial about using technology to help people with dementia stay in their own homes which I think is very promising.

Howz - looks after my mum
Don’t let the App problems of the last few days put you off. My family have used this for two years as part of the EDF trial. The app and in-home hardware works fine, to best of my knowledge three glitchy days in that time.
The family can see what my 82yr old mum is up to from anywhere; know when she is in or out, know when she is up in the night; know when she unexpectedly goes out, track her normal activity patterns.

Crap app
I’ve recently bought a Howz to monitor my 83 year old diabetic and partially disabled dad at home, who recently fell and was on the floor for 2 hours. This app is absolutely crap. It works a couple of times, then completely fails to open. In the 3 days I’ve had this app, I’ve had to delete and re-download at least 8 times.
How can they be happy to have such an important app work so poorly?? This app is a matter of life or death, and it seems that Howz are not taking this seriously.
I can see a huge lawsuit happening if something happens to a loved one and this app is NOT working 100%, 100% of the time!
