Some good some bad
The beacon placement and management features in this app do the job nicely. Where this app really struggles is the location walk-through.
Having to pre-plan your route on complicated floors requires double work. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not but, currently, the star icon is where you have just tapped and the dotted orange line is where you previously walked. I think the star icon is supposed to be the target of where you’re walking to and the orange dotted line should show the path that you need to walk.
The big problem I have is that the “Finish walk-through” button and the “Done” button are in the same location so if the app freezes while processing and you accidentally tap “Finish walk-through” twice, it will delete the entire survey and you will have to re-walk the floor. There is no option to save the survey locally so if you don’t grab a screenshot, the information is gone.
As you are walking along, it would be excellent to have an “undo” button so that you do not have to stop the survey and then go back to the beginning. Being able to plan your routes as you are surveying would help with the double work.
Lastly, it would be great if you could save your progress while walking on the floor to avoid having to re-walk if something goes wrong. In instances where you were walking with a customer or with security, this can cause a lot of headache.
