This is the best way for commuting to the city. Buses are on time, clean and customer service is great.

I had wanted to try the new HIP service for a long time and now that I did, I’m so glad. The buses are clean, follow all pandemic rules strictly and the app is very communicative. They bend over backwards to be helpful. You should try it out!

I started using Hip during COVID and I will never go back to my prior commuting options. The buses are on time, spotless and provide an absolutely stress free way to commute to NYC and back. Wish I had tried it sooner!
Great service
Hip provides great service and has been an especially great option during covid. The buses are amazing and safe. So nice, clean and everyone is intentionally spaced out. The staff is also very friendly.
Amazing bus service
Hip bus has truly changed my commute to NYC everyday. The busses are clean, very comfortable, spacious, and they are always extremely punctual. The app is easy to navigate and the service is 100% reliable. HIGHLY recommended!
Great new service from the Montvale area!
This is a great new option to get into NYC from Montvale, NJ where it is more reliable and cost efficient than NJ Transit and Rockland Coaches!
It is a 1.5 hour train ride from Montvale to NY Penn Station. Who’s got time to spare for that with NJ Transit and if the trains are on-time.
With Rockland Coaches 45/47 buses - it’s a hit and miss if they are going to arrive. I’ve been burnt by them so many times and their zero customer communications. You sign up for a Rockland Coaches email distribution - expect nothing. I can’t say how many times I’ve been stuck clueless Montvale or at the NY PABT over the last 10 years.
The evening return trips could get refined a bit. Overall I am extremely happy and thrilled with this new option. I hope Hip promotes this more with the Woodcliff Lake / Montvale Commuters so that it picks up steam.

Great - however, it misses a crucial stop
The app does not allow for pick up on Hudson and Dean. This would be a great add on to the route!
Amazing bus service
I’ve been going back-and-forth from New Jersey to NYC and vice versafor a decade, and this is the best service and ride - hands down. Undoubtedly the best NJ to NY and back option available.
Good overall but their Tenafly/Englewood route could be better
The hip bus is fantastic in many ways and provides a much needed alternative to those of us who live on the Tenafly/Englewood route. That being said the bus Hip uses for this route is extremely uncomfortable, bouncing around like crazy and super noisy. The route itself is better than NJ transit’s but NJT’s buses are sadly better! That being said the bus Hip uses for their Teaneck route is absolutely top of the line fantastic. I look forward to the day they’ll use the same quality bus for the Tenafly/Englewood route.

It comes on time. Super clean and comfortable. Incredibly easy to use. A legitimately pleasant experience. Their Customer service is also responsive and friendly. Just an entirely different level of service compared to NJ Transit or Coach USA.
Perfect App for NJ/NY Bus Commuting
Clean luxurious buses, seat reservation, slick app, and down to earth customer service, what else can you ask for when commuting everyday back and forth from New Jersey to New York City?!
A very pleased commuter!
I’ve been riding Hip for about two weeks now on the Tenafly/Cresskill route. I continue to be amazed at how much more pleasant my commute has become compared with the mass transit option that I was using for four years prior to this. And it’s surprising how quickly I’ve been spoilt by this new mode of transportation that the mass transit option seems like it was in a previous lifetime :-).
It’s clear that the team at Hip has closely studied the many pain points commuters have been subjected to over the years, and have come up with a solution to each of those. From providing live GPS tracking of bus location, to notifying riders that their bus is close by or running late (which has rarely happened, and if it does, I’ve only witnessed a delay of up to a minute!), to having the flexibility of taking a different route based on live traffic updates (more on this: the driver decided to take the GWB instead of Lincoln tunnel on the way home on two occasions, and that decision easily saved us close to an hour on the commute), to making only a few stops - shaving off 15 minutes from the commute and also resulting in a more personalized experience for the commuters!, and last but not the least, great amenities such as leather seats, air conditioning that the driver happily adjusts to make it comfortable for the ride, WiFi and water. Once we add up all these fixes and improvements, riding a Hip bus feels akin to taking a family bus or a personal limo, and I actually look forward to my commute these days!
