About

Most stroke-order apps play you an animation and hope for the best. This one makes you write. Draw each stroke with your finger. It is accepted only if it starts in the right place, ends in the right place, stays close to the center line, and comes at the right point in the sequence. Draw 一 from right to left and it fails — direction is half of what stroke order means. Draw a stroke that belongs later in the character and the app tells you which one it was. VERIFIED, NOT GUESSED Every character here has been checked against GB/T 39100-2020, the national stroke-order standard issued by the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission. 3,075 characters pass that check automatically. The other 13 were reviewed by hand, stroke by stroke, and the app marks them, so you always know which is which. The Sources tab names all 13 and shows the whole method: the standard, the character inventory, how each character was tested, the licenses, and the measured accuracy of the check. WHAT'S INSIDE • 3,088 characters from the current HSK 3.0 character syllabus, bands 1 through 7–9 • 1,200 marked 手写字 — the ones the exam asks you to write by hand, not merely recognize • 9,371 syllabus words • The official stroke-order code (笔顺编码) for every character, spelled out stroke by stroke with names: 横 竖 撇 点 折 LEARN Watch the character written on a 米字格 grid — a brush sweeping along each stroke's center line, not an outline fading in. Pause, step, scrub, change speed, or reveal the finished character. Tap any stroke to jump straight to it. Search by character, word, pinyin (with or without tones) or English meaning. Every character shows its radical, its meaning, and the syllabus words that use it. PRACTICE Pick a band, or let the app choose what you have met but not yet mastered. Two wrong attempts bring up a guide stroke with a starting dot. "Show me" replays the whole character. A character counts as mastered after three faultless writings — three, and faultless, not three views. The rules behind the order are there too, with a worked example for each: 先横后竖, 先撇后捺, 从上到下, 先外后内, 先里头后封口. PROGRESS Mastery rings per band, and an honest count of what you have actually written correctly rather than what you have looked at. FREE TO START Your first 50 characters are free, with everything: the animation, the stroke code and the writing practice. Every character you open stays free for good. A single in-app purchase unlocks all the others. No subscription. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE No account and no sign-up. The entire dataset ships inside the app, so it works on a plane, on the subway, and anywhere else. Your progress file never leaves your device. — Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the HSK examination authorities. The row of strokes under the animation now follows along, so the stroke being drawn is always in view, even on long characters like 矗 and 罐.
