Use this all the time. Very handy dictionary!
Search by English, pinyin, or HanZi. They all will give you results. I would give it 5 stars except not all the words have one particular feature, which I value a lot. Many of the words have a brush-sroke animation and practice panel —but some do not.
I believe some of the less-frequent characters are the culprits missing this additional feature. So, because of this, only 4 stars.

Very convenient and easy to use, highly recommended!
No ads and other disturbing things like other apps. The translation is fast, direct and I can find the words easily. The app shows the stroke and pinying which can be a good tool to learn Chinese as well

Super!!! L'App le plus utile pour moi. Il est gratuit en plus. J'aimerais avoir la même chose pour d'autres langues. Les autres dictionnaires coûtent souvent très chers et son plus compliqué à utiliser.
Good App, but LOADS of minor issues
Really good app for those why try to learn chinese, but, if you have a wireless keyboard for your ipad it might everytime you try to erase the searching bar it bug and stay froze for x seconds until you can try to search another word (if possible). If a update could be made so you wont have to close/open everytime the app to search a word.

Super app gratuite
C'est une merveilleuse app. gratuite pour apprendre le chinois !! Mais il y a des divergences entre le contenu anglais et français... et quelques fois dans le dictionnaire anglais dans la traduction des caractère chinois composant un mot on ne retrouve que ; " surname ying" , "surname li" .... Ce qui est fatigant a la longue.

Cet outil multilingue très simple et très facile à utiliser - en plus d'être gratuit - est indispensable à ceux qui étudient la langue chinoise. Même si HUAYING n'offre pas la richesse encyclopédique des grands dictionnaires français-chinois, chinois-français et anglais-chinois, chinois-anglais, il est beaucoup plus pratique et accessible que tous ces autres dictionnaires pour ceux qui veulent se familiariser avec le chinois, parce qu'il tient tout entier dans un iPod, sans que l'utilisateur ait besoin d'être branché sur Internet. Entre autres vertus, HUAYING donne la prononciation et le sens (ou les sens) de chaque caractère composant un mot, ce qui aide l'étudiant à comprendre l'étymologie des mots et à les retenir. Contrairement à la plupart des dictionnaires de poche, HUAYING fournit plusieurs équivalents dans les autres langues, selon le sens recherché.

Simply awesome, whatever your level of Chinese
I've just returned from a two-week business and sightseeing trip to China. I know some Mandarin, so for after work chit-chatting or just getting around, Huaying proved itself essential--and accurate-- throughout my stay. Better still, my Chinese colleagues quickly started using Huaying on my device to find just the right way to express themselves in English! This is a most superb app.
