Scam !!
I signed up for a background check as they require one for you to pickup projects from home owners. They charged me twice for it, no support. It’s been over a week and I still am unable to take jobs that require a background check again no support!! I’ve emailed multiple days and tried using their ai chat bot which have lead to no response or frustration because the chat bot keeps telling me I must be doing something wrong. Find work elsewhere this app has no in person support and they dodge your emails. A blatant scam you don’t have to fall for

This is definitely one of those “why didn’t I think of this” moments
I wish I would have thought of this. I absolutely love this whole concept, have used HUDU 10+ times for everything from mowing to restaining my deck. You’ve got a fan (and lister) for life here.
Great concept but plagued by fake contractors
If you have one fake contractor start the bidding you are screwed.
Great until anything goes wrong with your Job
Hudu needs to focus on building out their customer service options rather than focusing on scaling the business. They have no way to actually speak to someone and they don’t answer their support emails. I’ve used the site 6 times successfully, but then had a contractor ghost us after awarding a $3k project. Hudu is just sitting on the money because their system is not setup to handle the refund. I followed the directions to go to Payments and request a repayment of funds, but it sends you to setup a stripe account like you are a contractor. The funds were not returned and there is no option to request them again. No response from Hudu.

Awesome concept, clunky App
I really love the HUDU concept and have used the service for multiple projects of all sizes. It really needs some user-friendly updates though. For example, nothing is saved when you go back and forth between screens. The automatic questions that are generated are great, but you also have to realize that you need to select the checkbox to include the question, even if you add it from scratch. Erasing all the bids if you need to make an update is frustrating. You should convert the bids to draft and notify the bidders to see if they want to adjust their bid and resubmit. The clunky site makes it easy to miss things and the update process makes it even worse.

Unable to post jobs
I can’t even post a job listing because I can’t save my address during a project listing or in my settings for “addresses”.

Love the app! I make sure that I pick out the right do’er for the project.
I ask questions and I don’t always pick the “cheapest” person -cause you know you get what you pay for!
When I list my project I put details so there is no miscommunication.

My new go to for getting projects done
I love this app. Incredibly simple to use and It so easy to get projects and odd jobs done. I’m really impressed this company and app is built right in Iowa. You have a lifelong customer here.

HUDU Does not Refund Cancelled Projects per T&Cs
I wish I could right a better review of this app however I had a project that multiple doers cancel after awarding their bid. The doers cancelled for various reasons and I have yet to receive a return of my funds. I have submitted multiple support tickets and corresponded with the CEO who makes false and unsupported claims of remitted funds. This is in direct violation of their terms and conditions and support / help response has been almost nonexistent.

Good luck
I have had incredible challenges with the app and receiving follow through on the bids. I have picked doers that have completed number of projects. After just speaking with the founder of the project and stating the challenges with the project. He told me that it’s my fault for my price and we’re getting bottom of the barrel doers based upon that. I have spoken with him several times and never once was that brought up.
My most recent experience was with a painter who didn’t show up multiple times after all we wanted was communication. They told us times they’d be here and then they weren’t there.
Never was the price mentioned by Derrick, founder, until just then. I have been disappointed in the resolution and help associated with it.

My official go to when needing work done
This is my new favorite app to use when needing work done around my house. There are people available to do anything and everything. You can see past reviews of workers to see level of reliability, and decide your own time frame needed on the project, mark whether or not they are required to have a background check, etc. It even provides questions you can ask the bidder. This app has been amazing and I have used it several times while trying to sell my home. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

They’re making some pretty big claims, certainly swinging for the fences. I hope they can pull off what their claiming, would really help a lot of people. Pretty hard to imagine a tech company that’s transparent and fair. Keep it up HUDU.
