Nicht zu empfehlen

Man kann die App kostenlos Downloaden und danach ist eine Lampe oder ein Raum freigeschaltet und danach muss man sofort 1,99 zahlen. Eine Hue Bridge ist notwendig.

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear that you’re disappointed about the pricing model. Hue Widgets used to be a paid-up-front app. Unfortunately some customers purchased the app without realizing that you need a Hue Bridge to control their lights, or were not able to connect to it because of unusual network setups. I changed the pricing model to an in-app-purchase to let potential customers try out the app first and have them verify that Hue Widgets works with their setup. Again, I’m sorry to hear that this did not meet your expectation.

Configure?

Won’t connect hue hub?

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear this. Can you contact me at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl? I’m sure I can help you out.

Terrible App

Do not waste your money on getting a full version !!!

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear this. What did you expect that wasn’t delivered? The free version has all functionality but is limited to one room, so you should be able to experiment before buying. Please send me an email at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl and let me know how I can help you.

Does not actually create Home Screen widgets

AVOID!!!!! Asks for money and does not do what it’s supposed to.

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear the app is not working for you. Please contact me at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl so I can investigate and make sure the app works for you as well.

When it works it's good but then it just stops.

Once in a while the widgets just stop working and now the app won't even open the home page.

Response from developer

Hi! Please contact me at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl so that I can investigate what’s happening.

Worked until it didn’t

I have had the app for two months. I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall twice every so often because it unlinks with bridge.

In theory it works well and when linked it works well.

But when you reinstall you have to completely rebuild the widgets. I frankly don’t have time to do that every couple of weeks.

So I have uninstalled and won’t be reinstalling

Response from developer

I’m sorry you experienced this. So far I’ve not seen heard any complaints about unlinking bridges. And reconnecting should not destroy your widgets. If you don’t feel like investing more time, I totally understand this. But if you would like to give the app another chance, please contact me at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl. I’ll do my very best to help you out.

Garbage

Always unavailable

Response from developer

Hi, I’d love to help you with that. Please contact me at huewidgets@pimnijman.nl.

Good enough

Until the official hue app adds this

Must have hue bridge for this to work

Must have hue bridge for this to work, does not work with hue lights alone

Response from developer

That’s correct. This is true for all third party apps for Hue. That’s why I mentioned it in the app’s description. I’m sorry you missed it. Feel free to ask for a refund: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084

No option to toggle lights

This app is doing the same thing an iOS shortcut can do. If you are looking for a way to toggle hue lights with one widget this is not the app for you. Disappointed I had to pay $2 to find this out.

Better than shortcuts

I chose this app because I hate the shortcuts app (slow and annoying banners).
I would see three improvements in this app, which would make it 5 stars. 1) Toggle on/off lights in one button 2) Visibility in button if light is on or off (colored to toggle) 3) when creating a widget, add a done button. I was confused how to end the process until I understood it is already done.

Perfect

This basically removes the need for using both the Hue and Home app in my case, while being much more responsive and customizable! ❤️ I have created 3 large widgets and put them into a smart stack on my homescreen to cover 95% of my needs.

The only thing I‘m missing is an on/off toggle for rooms to put in a widget, so I don’t need to use two fields.

Funktioniert sehr gut

Vielleicht kann man ja noch am Design der Buttons arbeiten, und eine Möglichkeit für Dimmen einbauen. Ansonsten genau das was HUE selber nicht hinbekommt.

Great solution to a real problem!

So look, the official Hue app is cool but it has some usability issues, and offers nothing in the way of widgets. I’ve been struggling to make some band-aid fixes to automatically set animated light scenes via Shortcuts and Home integrations, but nothing has been successful….until Hue Widgets!

This app is addressing a real-world problem I’ve had, and offers a simple, elegant solution. This is engineering at its peak, and in my opinion, the definition of the usefulness of the widget framework Apple has built out.

Setup was SUPER simple and straightforward, and configuring the widgets was very easy. A good UX needs no additional documentation, and that’s a big win here. Everything I needed to know was either clearly explained in the app, or intuitive enough that no explanation was necessary.

This was the best couple bucks I’ve spent on the App Store in awhile, and I’ve used it daily since downloading it.

Does what it says!

I finally can control Hue via iOS widgets.

Initial connection issue, but works well now

I got an error when first attempting to connect, but it works well now and does what it states.

Response from developer

Happy to hear you got it sorted. Enjoy using the app!

Does not discover hue bridge - waste of money

Buggy, waste of $2.99 actually and you can’t get a refund.

Hue Light Savior

Thank you for making this widget:
> Simple
> Minimal
> Straight Forward
> Not using unnecessary bright loud ugly icons or colors
> Not using to much blah text to describe blah functions

The official Hue Lights App decided to integrate in to Apple’s Home,,, yuk! Still convoluted and so many buttons to be pressed.

Widget is literally a click on the homescreen.

I am in Zen ⭐️ 🧠 ♥️

Note: “Return to home” so far is working well! 👍🏽
