Definitely for small kids only
My younger two kids (5 & 7) love this app & it actually had one of them trying veggies just so she could feed Huey. But my 12 year old found that it could scan anything of that color & get coins to get items for the pets, which defeats the entire purpose. Obviously he’s older, so it’s not completely unexpected but I wish it had a bit more to keep him involved.

Great education tool, yet lacks interest
Great tool to educate children in a simple way of the importance of eating a variety of foods. The app is very basic in the functions and lacks some thought in navigating and how to continue to educate children. My kids lost interest. Some ideas for improvement would be to provide recommendations of foods within the same color wheel or that may taste similarly. Having that kind of support would help further reinforce learning and experimenting with food.

More Thoughtful Choices Are Being Made
This app has had a wonderful impact on my kids meal and snack choices. When mom recommends eating something healthy they don’t always want to listen. But if they can feed a fun monster pet while making healthy choices and earn fun accessories they are all in. The only reason I rated it 4 stars was my kids started to loose interest when the monster wasn’t progressing fast enough. But definitely helps younger kids learn about making healthier food choices.

Fun for younger kids
My kids are too old for this to be fun for them (10&12). My nephew who is 8 loves it. It is really fun for him to get things for his hue pet. I don’t like that he gets rewarded for scanning things that aren’t healthy. I think it is a great concept, just needs some work.

My kids love Hue Pets! They are so invested in helping their pet eat healthy foods that they are more interested in eating the same thing! Who new eating healthy could be fun for kids!
Great concept but needs improvement
The idea of growing a character based off of the foods my kids eat is a great attempt, but unfortunately not the answer for my growing kiddos. My kids loved this app for about 10 minutes and haven’t wanted it much since then. In all honesty, I’m glad they don’t like it anymore because they spent too much time scanning their food and forgot all about eating it! Great idea but was a ‘no’ from me and my kids.

My 8, 9, and 11 year olds are having a great time with this app. Will the newness wear off? Maybe. Time will tell. For now it’s some good clean educational fun.
