Nagging

The app asks you to buy to view part of stories. This never used to happen. And now I have to delete the app and reinstall it to make the app normal again. I have had this app for many years with no problem. Why now?

Why are stories not removed

Many articles or well over a week old and are not removed. How do you do this to freshen up the content

Rubbish app

One of the worst apps on the internet. Poor reporting by extremely average reporters. Don’t start a story and not finish by say we will keep this story updated and………. Very poor. They are now expecting you to pay for this rubbish.

Use to be great

Ok, but now you have to pay to read more than 20 ads a month it’s just not worth it, so removed the app.

Subscriptions

They have made it so that you have to pay to view more articles if you read more than 20. Whilst the app is like this, I wouldn’t not recommend anyone downloads it.

Not updating

Hasn’t updated the news for 2 days

No Longer Works

Latest update forces the user to sign in to receive “my news”, even if not wanted. The Home screen is no longer accessible. And “my news” does not work anyway. The App is now useless and unusable.

News Reports depressing

This news media can only relate to crime and overall depressing news for the City of Hull.
Can I suggest that you report on the positive work that volunteers help various charities to create a positive outlook for all
In the City. The news is depressing. We are not interested in court cases and pictures of low life people. As an organisation you should be praising the positive news of this city. If in fact there are such positive news.

Don’t bother

Too many stories now require a subscription, stories completely covered by adverts and unable to comment on stories. Read it free via PressReader if you’re a member of a local library

Sports News

I really don’t want news of any sport, how can I opt out?

You are trying to stop people using it

I was unhappy when you stopped allowing us to make comments on the articles as I enjoy the opinions of other people.

But now when you are making some articles only available to subscribers and only letting us read a few each week makes me think you don’t want us to use your app.

What next? Bin the app because less people use it?

Deleting

After using this god-awful app for such a long time, the final nail in the coffin was when I tried to read an article and a paywall appeared.

Slow zzzzz

Great content, but slow, usually just give up trying to read stuff.

Such a shame.

Always Crashing

An App in Hull is useless.
Hull Live is:
Always Crashing
Terrible Reporting
Illiterate Reporters

App

App works ok - If only the update could improve the journalism.

Typical Hull Daily Mail

Very poor coverage of local news other than court appearances and births marriages and deaths. Stories are more likely to appear in other newspapers or on TV news before they appear in the HDM. The image created by this newspaper is of a city where nothing much happens and most of the features are about hopeless victims of crime or other misfortune and a lot of the articles are written in ridiculous “journalese”.

Unable to read comments just says oops try again but nothing happens

Rubbish

I try every day to get the local sports news then I give up get your act together regards m green

Tiresome.

No option to opt out of all vendor/targeting cookies. Each has to be toggled manually which takes forever.
