Almost there

Update-

Control is now updated and great!

This game is almost there, but the control of the shooter needs work. Specifically, the shooter is slow to respond to movements of the finger controlling it. Once fixed, this will be a 5 star game but until then, the gameplay suffers.

Doesn’t work

I purchased the bundle and this game doesn’t work! I’m using iPhone 12 mini and version 14.4 iOS. Please fix! When I try to play hummingbird it just goes to bundle package where nothing works. No crash just when I try to play it goes to App Store.

Response from developer

Please provide more information so I can fix it - like device & iOS version. What does not work? Does not start? Crash? Thanks!

This and other similar games

This game related to Centipede and Millipede.
I like the power-ups and fast shooting, then saw that it got really intense after shooting through several (insect) bosses.

Needs easy mode

Great game. This really brings back fond memories of arcade games. I do think it needs an easy mode or practice mode. I would also like to see the background color in the second level lightened. The spider legs completely disappear into the dark background.

Great Centipede-inspired game

This is a nice little game that isn’t designed to be a soulless money funnel, which is a rarity in the App Store these days. It is a great Centipede analog, although it’s not exactly the same (it’s harder, for one thing.) Definitely worth a download.

Does not fit the screen on my phone

Update: This issue has been resolved. I was able to get in touch with tech support and he was able to help me correct this issue. His response and support was as close to immediate as you can get. Awesome support for an Awesome game!

Would be a awesome fun game but it doesn’t fit the screen. It’s hard to select options because of this. Please fix the issue and it would be a great game.

Terrible controls

If the previous update wasn’t bad enough with the finger tracking, this upgrade has made it even worse. Please fix this as the game is really unplayable now as they are completely out of sync on the standard iPad.

Very Funny!!!

I like this game, very good gameplay with excellent graphics, good to kill time.

Hummingz evo

Just brought this app and the controls is weak. In the nearest future please fix. Overall app is good..

No audio?

Might be a bug. Yes my volume is up and there is nothing in my audio jack. Looks like a good game but no audio detracts severely. I pad 2 latest update...

Good game, hate the soundz!!!!!

The explosion as you get hit is nasty.... How about a bug splat?
Snails and many other bugz make no sound... The water drip, sound while shooting is ok, but gets annoying. Why can't we control firing? Why the auto fire?

Really needs work on the audio effects!!! I bought it due to it supporting iCade. I buy most all icade games!!!

With bettter suited, and more sounds I would update this to 5 stars.
Spiders and snails need suitable sound. Explosion at the end makes no sense. It's not a space game.

Fun!

Great on the icade! The only thing I would ask for is to be able to off the auto fire. Would like the option to hit the fire button myself.

Great graphics, poor sound, similar to Centipede

I love the graphics and am glad I bought the game. The sounds are very simple and not up to the polished level of the graphics, though. I can't give it 5 stars without better sound.

It's not exactly a Centipede clone, because everything (I mean everything) that you shoot turns gray and drops, and you try to collect as many as possible as they fall, to earn points/powerups. I think the gray "dead" things should maybe be transparent or pulse or something, because in the heat of battle it's hard to tell what's "dead" and catchable vs. what's a threat to avoid. But you do get used to the difference as you play: basically anything "falling" is GOOD, except for spiders, and the purple mushrooms that the bosses throw. If you've played a lot of Galaga-type games, your instinct is that falling stuff is enemy fire to be avoided; get over that and learn to catch them!

Also, it has big frog bosses; I don't recall big bosses in Centipede. So this is Centipede-like but not a total clone, and I like that.

Finger control does feel a bit odd--I'm not sure it really interferes with play, and it's not a deal-breaker, but your character doesn't precisely follow your finger, in the following two ways:

1. It has a speed limit. If you move your finger super fast, it has to catch up to you. This is OK by me, and consistent with the limit you'd have playing Centipede with a trackball. Some would call this "lag" but I wouldn't: you only hit the limit in a blatant way when you try to move really fast. Your character is by no means slow.

2. It only moves in 8 directions, seemingly, instead of moving directly towards/with your finger. In practice, that means it starts every little movement with a 45-degree diagonal motion that catches up to your vertical position. Then it slides straight horizontally the rest of the way. All this happens vey fast, and it almost feels like a kind of grid-snap on the character, but it's really a "direction-snap." You can get used to this, and it's more distracting that actually being a big problem. But if the character moved straight toward your finger at any angle, that might feel better?

Note that if you use an iCade, 8-way control is expected. iCade control feels pretty good (although not the same as trackball Centipede of course).

Loving this with...

....iCade. My only gripe is not being able to shoot by hitting one of my eight fire button. If you can add a manual shoot then it'll be centipede with bells on.
Defender next please (without auto shoot).

Wow!! Lots of fun!

Classic centipede game reinvented. A very beautiful game and smooth gameplay. I recommend it highly. Great job
