🚨 Warning About the Hydra AI App (also called Hydera) 🚨

I recently downloaded an app called Hydra AI because I love creative tools — especially ones that let you make animated dolls that talk and move like little characters. I paid $9.99 to try it out, but then the app asked me to pay another $9.99 just to unlock the voice feature. I did. Then it asked me again for another $9.99!

That’s when I reached out to Apple and did some digging. I found out this app only has a 2.6-star rating and other people have had similar issues — multiple payments, no real results, and a confusing setup that keeps asking for more money. Some say you have to “join the team” first, but even after doing that, it still didn’t work for me.

I’m now waiting to hear back from Apple about my refund. But I wanted to share this so no one else gets caught in the same trap. The app made it sound fun and promising, but it didn’t deliver.

If you’ve had a different experience or found something that works better for animation or AI dolls, let me know! I love tools that help share truth and creativity in fun ways — I just want them to be honest.

Be careful out here. Every app isn’t what it looks like.

I love the AI lip sync matching is great. And the ability to turn a picture live is also awesome. However, I don’t like the fact you can’t edit the text once you hit Submit. The app makes you pay again just to edit the same video. A major issue for me.

Money stolen did not work at all

I paid $9.99 for the weekly subscription expecting to animate my image with my own script using the “Talking Head” feature—exactly what the app advertised. But as soon as I subscribed, it demanded another $9.99 just to unlock the feature I thought I already paid for. Stupidly, I paid again, thinking it would work. It didn’t. Nothing worked. No animation, no results—just two charges and zero delivery.

There were no clear warnings or terms BEFORE paying, and only after signing up do you learn about their hidden paywalls and vague limitations. This feels like a bait-and-switch scam. If an app can’t do the one thing it promises, it shouldn’t be on the App Store.

I wasted $19.98 for nothing, and I feel completely ripped off. This app is deceptive and should be removed until it fixes its shady business practices.

When the App Says ‘Pro’ but Means ‘Pay More

I downloaded the app to make a baby-talking video like the TikTok trend. I subscribed to the $13.99/month plan thinking it included everything I needed. But when I went to create the video, it still made me pay $9.99.

I paid it anyway, submitted the video, and it failed.

So what’s the point? Why am I paying for a Pro subscription if I still have to pay extra and the video doesn’t even work?

Asked for money upfront and didn’t deliver…No sound

Uploaded photo added script, chose a voice and the video seems fine but there is no sound. Before you could use the product you have to pay, no free trial. Plus you pay 9.99 and you only get enough credits to make one video. It’s not worth it. I was ripped off.

Doesn't work

Why am I asked to subscribe again when I already have a monthly subscription and paid for a one-time voice generator. And by the way, I was debited $30.82 instead of $13.99

Keep taking my money

I would like to know when a subscription fails. What do I do? Do I get my money back when I try to create something take my money and it didn’t create it do I get my money back?

Too general when it comes to usage. Wish there was an editing tab lit chat for to remove or add details. It was a miss for me

Does not work all the time

It worked once I paid for it again it keeps glinting and would even work when I paid agsin

You can’t hear what the voice sounds like. It’s a guess. Fix that feature and your app would be awesome
