Great responsiveness

Updated as of Aug 28: I reached out directly to Brid, and their response was immediate and effective. They quickly remedied several issues I had identified, and provided comprehensive feedback and recommendations. Most responsive developer I’ve ever encountered! I’ve power-used Awesome Notes 2 for years. When I saw HyFlow, I expected the ability to seamlessly transition from AN2. Foolish me. First, the minimalist instructions with HyFlow are inadequate; I relied heavily on ChatGPT and Gemini to augment the thin HyFlow content. Second, when I did the transfer from AN2 to HyFlow, it failed to transfer hundreds of notes. I had to go back and do backup/restore for each folder to cleanly transfer items. Cleanup was laborious. Finally, the iPhone install was 🫨 similarly cantankerous. I don’t mind being a bit of a guinea pig, but feel like I’m participating in alpha testing. Your app clearly has promise, but it hasn’t achieved it yet, at least for this disappointed user.

We're sorry this fell short of what you expected. There is something we should tell you first. 6.3.0 went up on the App Store today, and it reworks a good deal of what happens when you move over from Awesome Note. Backups made before 2014 — the format whose notes and folders were dropped entirely until now — are restored, and the tags you had in Awesome Note come across with them. The restore handling itself, and the app slowing down across the board when there are many notes, are fixed too. So what you ran into may well behave differently in 6.3.0. We haven't reproduced your case here, though, so we can't tell you outright that it is fixed. There is nothing for you to redo — you have already moved everything over. If you restore the same backup again, notes that are already there are skipped as already existing, so nothing new comes in. Tags and the old-backup support apply only at the moment of restoring, so they are not applied to notes that are already in. Hundreds of notes not coming across during the transfer is not how it is meant to work. Restoring folder by folder is the same approach our own help points to, but needing to do that at all is the problem, and we are looking into the cause. There is no need to send us your backup file. Just this much, to support@bridworks.com, would let us check whether it is genuinely solved at that scale. 1. Roughly how many notes were there in total, and how large was the backup file? 2. When you restored it in one go, how many of them came in? 3. How many folders were there, and when you restored folder by folder, did everything come in? 4. Did the restore screen show an error at any point? 5. Which part on the iPhone gave you trouble — installing, restoring, or syncing? You are right that the guidance was thin. Help only arrived inside the app in 6.2.0. It is under Settings > About & Help > Help, you can search it by topic, and it has its own entry on moving over from Awesome Note. If what you were looking for still wasn't there, tell us what it was — we add topics with each update. Thank you for telling us.

Beautiful, Powerful, Versatle

Updated Review (8/21/26):
This app has jumped miles ahead with recent updates. It has pretty much everything you could want in a hybrid note, journal, planner, calender and task manager.

Very pleased with the consistent updates, new features and improvements. Note color backgrounds, default note font and size and the ability to link system events, Apple reminders and other notes are a few of my favorites. I also love that you have the option to link photos or videos from the system photo album to any note, instead of copying them which greatly saves space in the app and on your device. You also have the option to automatically link photos and videos to the timeline based on creation date. Both are unique features I’ve not encountered in any note or journal app.

A note allows you to add pretty much add any content to it, including photos, videos, url links (with optional preview), voice memos, system calendar events and appointments, Apple reminders, location, drawings, special days, workouts, weather, files and options for rating and mood — making it one of, if not the most versatile journal/note apps available — and creates a space for developing an unprecedented media rich knowledge-base of information, that can cross reference related notes. Also, you can move content around inside notes, unlike most journal / note apps (unless they are block-based). Makes it so much easier to rearrange content without the need of copying and pasting.

I’d also like to mention that the app is quite stable — which is quite a feat and boon for any app that you choose to store your precious memories and thoughts within and has back up and multiple export/import options too.

Suggestions / Ideas / Wishes:

- Setting to adjust font size of timeline
- Setting to adjust font size for week and month notes
- Custom icons / emojis for flow logs
- Another folder / timeline view exclusive to all the flow notes we create across days.
- Be able to convert an individual flow note into a separate full note, maintaining creation date.
- Tags for notes and flow logs
- Pinned Special days show at top of timeline (across days)
- Few alternatives app icons to choose from (and maybe a one of the beautiful awesome notes icon or a new variation)
- Ability to hide/show completed todo notes in folders (including all folder view)
- Note templates
Remember last calendar view after closing and reopening app
- Voice recording option for timeline logs to quickly add a voice memo without having to first create a full note
- Option to display week and month notes at the top of UI
Time until next event, reminder or task displayed next to blinking Now Log (between next scheduled event, reminder or task) — on timeline.
- Apple Watch app to view our days timeline / schedule and bookmarked notes and ideally add a new flow log from our wrist and/or a voice memo.

Amazing effort, talent and carefully craft thought has gone into this app. And in my opinion has surpassed the developer’s original and beloved AwesomeNote. Can’t wait to see what new updates and enhancements await.

One of the few day planners that also has a robust note system built in and that also lets you drag and drop list items and paragraphs in the note body.

Two of the things you mentioned — tags for notes and swiping left and right to move between notes — are in 6.3.0, which is now out. Please update from the App Store. There's no separate menu for creating tags. Just type # followed by a word in the note body and it becomes a tag right there. You can then browse by tag, or combine several tags to narrow things down, and typing a word in the search field without the # will find tags too. One thing to note: tags can only be attached to notes — not yet to Flow entries. As for the app icon, we've been designing in a number of directions ourselves. If something better than the current one comes out of it, we're also considering making several variants and letting you pick one inside the app. Nothing is settled yet, though, so we can't say when. The rest of your suggestions — text size options, custom icons for Flow entries, hiding completed to-do notes, note templates, an Apple Watch app — we've noted every one of them. 반갑습니다. 처음부터 사용하셨으면 굉장히 오래 사용하셨네요. 어썸노트에서 백업을 받으신 후에 그 파일을 하이플로에서 복원을 하시면 됩니다. 다만 십년 이상의 데이터가 많이 쌓이셨을텐데. 한 파일로 백업을 하지 마시고, 폴더 단위로 묶어서 여러 파일로 나눠서 백업 하시는 것이 좋을것 같습니다. 한가지 더, 현재 태그를 복원하는 기능이 아직 빠져있어서 곧 배포될 6.3.0에 들어갈 예정입니다. 그때 복원을 하시는 것을 추천드립니다. 감사합니다.

After the recent updates that they’ve made, I can now see this app surpassing awesome notes. Hopefully in the future, they’ll have an update where you can add your own background wallpaper instead of just Light and Dark Mode. Good job on updating the app.

Backup is now in version 6.0.0. Under Settings → Backup & Restore, you can save your notes, special days, and Flow records into a single file. Moving it to a computer works the way you asked: connect your iPhone with Finder or iTunes and copy the file off, or send it via AirDrop, a cloud service, or the Files app. Restoring that file on another device brings everything across. We were also cautious about restore overwriting what iCloud already has. That's handled — restore merges rather than replaces, and when an item already exists you choose whether to overwrite it or keep both. Thank you for keeping after us on this.

Disappointed

Everything that made Awesome Note 2 (iPhone and iPad) unique and special is now gone. A few observations which may not mean anything to others, but are very important to me.

1. The ability to add tags. I have almost 3,000 notes and each one has at least one tag if not multiple tags. I’ve also used those tags throughout the years to search for specific notes. None of that exists in HyFlow. I also tested the import process from Awesome Note and none of my tags are imported over. How, pray tell, is this supposed to help me going forward???

2. Formatting is not imported over. Bold, underline, different fonts, text in different colors, etc. None of that is coming over. Just words and photos.

3. The ability to add a default background and font for each folder is gone. Even the ability to change the font and background on a specific note within a folder regardless of the default is gone.

There are others, but I’ll stop here.

Sorry, but this is now just like all the other note-taking apps out there. It’s as if the developers decided that since no other developers are doing anything really unique and special (like Awesome Note 2), but are still making money from subscription-models, why should they try to stand out. Sad.

I will continue to use Awesome Note 2 as long as I can. 🙁

We're sorry this fell short of what you were hoping for. Tags are in development right now. There is a lot they have to work with, so it has taken us longer than we wanted. It has been on our minds too, and we are building the tag feature now. It will be supported soon. As for text formatting, the Awesome Note backup only carries the font at the note level, and the individual formatting isn't included in it. So there is no way for us to bring it over at the moment. Setting a default background and font for each folder, and changing them on a single note inside that folder — that is supported in 6.2.0. Please update from the App Store. Open a note and go to "Note Style" in the ⋯ menu to set the background, font, font size and line height, and you can also set defaults for each folder and for the whole app. The backgrounds you used in Awesome Note are included as they were. Backgrounds and fonts come in at the moment of restoring, so notes you moved over on an earlier version won't have them. We would suggest deleting those notes and restoring again on 6.2.0. Deleting a folder moves the notes inside it to the trash, and once you empty the trash and restore your backup again, each note's background, font and font size come across along with the folder defaults. If any notes you wrote in HyFlow are mixed into those folders they will be deleted as well, so please check first — and if you get stuck anywhere, write to us at support@bridworks.com. Awesome Note can no longer be supported, and we plan to take it off the App Store. Since you have so many notes, we would recommend making a backup file in Awesome Note and keeping it somewhere safe. Thank you for letting us know.

어썸노트에서 하이플로로 전환

어썸노트를 2010년 구매 후 지금까지 사용했습니다. 이번에 우연히 하이플로를 알게 되어, 어썸노트의 내용을 백업 후 하이플로에 복원하여 사용하려 준비하는 중입니다. 어썸노트 사용 시절엔 아이폰과 아이패드에서 각각 작성된 내용을 서로 동기화하여 내용을 공유할 수 있었습니다. 현재 아이폰에는 하이플로에 어썸노트의 사용 환경을 그대로 복원시켜 놓았는데, 아이패드로의 동기화가 원할 치 않네요.

[1]. 우선 어썸노트처럼 동기화 버튼이 따로 있는 것도 아니고 오로지 아이클라우드로의 자동 동기화만 되는 것 같은데…이마저도 금방 이루어지지 않고 있습니다.(자꾸 중간에 “대기 중”이라고 뜨네요. 물론 제 노트 용량이 큰 것도 있겠지만…백업 용량이 약 650MB정도 됩니다. 복원된 전체 용량은 5GB가 넘어서 아이클라우드도 플러스로 업그레이드 했습니다)
[2]. 그리고, 아이폰에는 제가 어썸노트에서 생성해 놓은 폴더가 그대로 하이플로에 복원되었는데, 동기화 중인 아이패드를 보니 제가 만든 폴더는 없고 수집폴더에만 노트가 잔뜩 들어가 있습니다. 폴더까지 동기화되는 것 아닌가요?
[3]. 할일폴더에서 보이는 목록이 가장 빠르게 도래할 순으로 표시되면 좋겠는데…이것도 어썸노트 대비 이상한 점이네요.

완전 초기 사용자시군요. 그동안 어썸노트를 써 주셔서 감사합니다. 옮기시는 과정에서 불편을 드려 죄송합니다. 1. 동기화 버튼과 "대기 중" 말씀하신 대로 하이플로에는 동기화 버튼이 따로 없고 iCloud가 알아서 주고받습니다. 대신 진행 상황은 보실 수 있습니다. 설정 화면 맨 아래의 동기화 상태 줄을 탭하시면 마지막 업로드·마지막 다운로드 시각과 업로드 진행률(%) 이 펼쳐집니다. "대기 중"은 멈춘 것이 아니라 차례를 기다리는 상태이고, 그동안 내용은 기기에 그대로 저장되어 있습니다. 처음 한 번에 많은 양을 올릴 때는 시간이 걸립니다. Wi-Fi와 전원에 연결하고 앱을 화면에 열어 둔 채로 두시면 더 빨리 끝날 수 있습니다. 동기화는 앱이 화면에 떠 있을 때 가장 많이 진행됩니다. 2. 아이패드에 폴더가 없고 수집함에만 노트가 있는 것 폴더도 함께 동기화됩니다. 다만 아직 내려받는 중일 때는 도착한 것부터 순서대로 나타나서, 지금은 아이패드가 다 받지 못한 상태로 보입니다. 아이패드에서도 1번의 방법으로 동기화를 끝까지 진행시켜 주시고, 그동안에는 아이패드에서 노트를 옮기거나 정리하지 마시고 그대로 두어 주세요. 상태 줄이 「iCloud에 동기화됨」으로 바뀐 뒤에도 폴더가 보이지 않으면 support@bridworks.com으로 알려 주세요. 그 경우는 저희가 따로 확인하겠습니다. 3. 할일을 마감이 가까운 순으로 지금도 하실 수 있습니다. 그 폴더를 열고 위쪽 정렬(↑↓) 버튼 → 「노트 날짜」로 바꿔 주세요. 어썸노트에서 넘어온 할일은 마감일이 「노트 날짜」로 들어와 있어서, 이 정렬이 곧 마감일 순입니다. 폴더 안이 전부 할일이면 지난 할 일 / 오늘 할 일 / 예정 / 언젠가 / 완료됨으로 자동으로 묶이고, 각 묶음 안은 마감이 가까운 순으로 정렬됩니다. (같은 메뉴의 「날짜 섹션 표시」가 켜져 있어야 묶음이 나타납니다.) 할일이 아닌 노트가 섞인 폴더에서는 마감이 지났거나 오늘까지인 할일만 위로 모입니다. 할일을 다루는 방식 자체도 어썸노트를 오래 쓰신 분들의 의견을 받아 손보고 있습니다. 감사합니다. 진행이 잘 안 되거나. 좋은 아이디어 계시면 언제든 support@bridworks.com으로 알려 주세요.

Без поиска по слову внутри заметки, как это было в Awesome Note, это приложение на данный момент почти мертвое и ничем не лучше старого, а по некоторым моментам даже хуже. Добавьте пожалуйста поиск внутри заметки.

После добавления поиска (6.1.0), приложение стало отличным!
Ещё бы добавили возможность синхронизации с другим облаком, а не только iCloud, как это было в Awesome Note.

어썸노트 정말 시작부터 사용하며 아쉬워 어썸노트 앱스토어 리뷰란에 아쉬움의 글을 남겼었다. 그런데 며칠전 개발자님 답글 달아주시고 하이플로를 말해주셔서 넘어왔고 적응중이다. 아마 곧 결제 할 듯. 근데 예전 어썸노트 앱 아이콘처럼 다이어리 느끼이면 좋겠다는 생각이..ㅎㅎㅎ 잘 사용하겠습니다. 이번엔 쭈욱~ 가주세요.

안녕하세요. 어썸노트의 오래된 유저이고 얼마 전 우연히 어썸노트 백업기능 지원 및 중단 예정 안내를 보고 부랴부랴 하이플로우에 백업을 진행해 보았습니다.
백업 기능 관련 몇가지 질문이 있습니다

[질문1] 기존 어썸노트의 “할일”기능을 통해 반복된 일정을 체크해 왔습니다. 예를 들면 최초 할일노트 생성일이 2025년 1월 5일이고 매주 화,목 반복된 일정 생성 및 완료체크해 왔는데요. 기존 어썸 노트에서는 반복하여 새로 생성된 일정이 캘린더에 표시(+완료)되었는데, 옮겨진 하이플로에서는 반복된 일정 노트가 몽땅 최초 생성일인 2025년 1월 5일로 표시되어 있습니다. 일일이 수기로 수정/조정할 수 밖에 없는 걸까요?

[질문2] 어썸노트에서는 노트폴더 색깔이 캘린더 상 선명하게 표시되었는데, 하이플로에서는 폴더색상이 명확하게 표시되지 않습니다(색상보다 노트무늬 부각). 예전 어썸노트처럼 노트폴더도 캘린더이벤트 폴더처럼 선명한 색상으로 표시될 수 있으면 좋겠습니다.

STILL No way to backup your notes!

You still can't backup your notes, importing your notes from Awesome Notes is great but who wants to spend their valuable time making all these note just to not be able to back them up. Need to create a way to backup all the notes and data in this app to your computer and transfer them to other devices. You need to make file sharing available when you connect to iTunes, THATS WHAT YOU DID WITH AWESOME NOTES. Still going to need massive updates to catch up with Awesome Note. It took so long for you to incorporate my idea of allowing the user to add their own background picture, just one of the many problems when you start over making an app.

이전 어썸노트에선 기본적으로 제공 되는 기능인데 업데이트 되었다고 생각되는 하이플로에선 부재하네요. 너무 불편합니다. 복사기능이 있긴 한데 개개 줄을 하나하나 선택해야하니 인내심을 필요로 합니다. 할일 노트에는 체크박스 기능도 없고 사진첨부 기능도 없고.... 아이클라우드의 동기화 기능은 이전 대비 훌륭하니 이런 기능부재도 빨리 업데이트 해주셨으면 합니다.

오 어썸처럼 되고 있나요?

분명 전에 개발자의 다른앱에서 봤을 땐 그냥 흔한 캘린더 앱이었는데 오늘 다시 와봤더니 어썸 데이터 복원도 되고 노트 기능이 들어왔네요?!?!! 와우 넥스트 어썸노트!! 이러면 당장 질러야죠!! 👍
일단 별점은 중립 박습니다. 일주일동안 체험해볼게요 어썸 대체할 수 있을지...디자인은 어썸이 더 나은 것 같긴 한데 지금 찬밥더운밥 가릴때가 아니라😞
