Simple and effective
It is not pretty app but it doesn’t have to be. It is simple and works.
Two issues though I noticed: I chose auto play with no game annotated; the app froze. So maybe just disable that option if the annotation sheet is blank.
The second issue is when trying to save the game. I think it’s because of the date format … I used “/“ as a delimiter; as a result got a message saying file name cannot have special characters. I would suggest, add another field for the actual file name. Or may e just reformat the date to remove special characters.
As an improvement to the app, I’d like to see the actual sheet with two columns - White and Black; I don’t think many would bother making comments for the actual moves. Any serious player would do that in chess.com or lichess.
Another improvement is to include an option to revert the board.

Needs a few more features to be perfect
Should allow multiple variations in parenthesis so I can annotate about what could happen and look at the variations. If they are too complicated for me to see blindfold since I’m not quite master strength yet it would be convenient to look at more variations and “what if” scenarios.
That’s my biggest pet peeve is variations. I’m going through chess master school and want to copy some of their games here but I can’t learn well without being able to look through variations at certain points of the game. Please add this and I’ll give it 5 stars.

Doesn’t annotate properly
Didn’t show any of whites rook moves. No annotation at all and did not recognize checkmate. App does not perform its primary function.
Nice design but too buggy to use
Overall I like the app, but if I take back and replay moves it sometimes corrupts the list of annotated moves shown on the screen. Sometimes they are wrong, sometimes completely missing. This needs to be fixed, as it’s the core function of the app.
Edit - it just got the turns switched, thinks it’s black’s turn when it should be white. This ruins the game I’m trying to play with my dad. And there is no way to fix it. :(

Just downloaded the app and annotated two games but I am happy with it. It’s easy to use and I can keep record of my games. Great!

Really effective app to use if you want to annotate any games you played, and to observe it in closer detail, or to review your mistakes and make better moves. I also really like the addition of a playlist of songs, which makes the app more entertaining and modern. All in all, great job with the app! 👏😄
