Can’t use it

I had to pay the 15 bucks up front, installed it on iPhone, cannot figure out how to add music. The quick start says look at the faq. When I click on the faq the page says I’m not authorized. As far as I can tell there is no help at all, no documentation, and no way to get help, except maybe by leaving a 1 star review.

No update for two years

As a paid app it should works with every iOS update it crashes a lot with iOS 15 and with other apps as well it looks outdated. Don't recommend this app for anyone.

Support import from file is better

It will be more convenient.

Deficient Product

This will down-sample music to 48 kHZ. It will not play your music in its native format.

For high resolution music or custom formats, this product is useless.

Also, If you are meticulous with the tagging of your music and embed the front and back of the album art, the player will only display the LAST or second image and thus, your music album art will be displayed with the BACK of the album cover. No other program or app does this.

The Best!

I downloaded other HiRes audio apps to play my Flac and DSD music and this one is by far the best one in the App Store. Waiting for my DragonFly usb DAc to be shipped so I can really experience HiRes on my iPhone !

One issue

App works great with one flaw: sometimes a song will appear to be "skipped" while listening to an album. For example, after song 1 on the album, the app screen indicates that song 3 is now playing, when in fact song 2 is playing. It's annoying, and it seems like an easy fix. I am on an iPhone 7 running iOS 10. Please fix!!

Add support too sort music by date you import them

Pretty bad...

Won’t even play downloaded music from Apple Music, doesn’t upscale anything in library that will play.
What’s the point of access to iTunes library of downloads are all drm? Seems like just asking for people to be upset when you claim Apple Music can be played. NONE of mine does, nothing downloaded from iTunes.
I don’t get the point when I can just use a flac player, you claim this upscales audio res, but it doesn’t that I see. At least not any mp3, and what’s the point in upscaling .wav .flac?
Already got refund, just like I sold all my korg hardware, I think I’m done w korg. Thanks for many hours of submenu rage.

iAudioGate

Enjoyable audio experience .

Not good

Can’t play a single song off of my iTunes library. I understand the DRM restriction on apps that allow you to edit the music and copyrights etc , but this is literally supposed to be for playback (at high quality) , and cannot play a single song for me. Wish I could return it. No I don’t want to individually download each song , at that point I could just upsample and convert the files myself

Not work with AirPlay

When I tried to connect to airplay not work correctly. It has a delay and I listen very slow the music. The synchronization is not good.

Poor documentation and instructions

The FAQ does not explain how to download high res audio files for latest iTunes. ITunes does not show app in the iOS devices any more.

Obviously the developer aims to make quick money and never cares to provide continuous support.

One big flaw

Every time you select a song to play it launches full screen view of the album... that’s awesome if you’re having a sleepover and everybody’s listening to albums together and they can all get really into the artwork, discuss, etc...

But if I’m at the gym (or anywhere else) that I don’t feel like sharing with everybody knowing what I’m actually listening to... then I gotta go with a different app.

Otherwise it’d be great.

Great app for iphone

iAudiogate App is the most well designed and elegant Hi-Res Music App. But they need to add some features like OVERLAP/CROSSFADE is to produce a smooth playlist transition between two sections of audio.

Response from developer

We apologize for the late reply and sorry for the inconvenience. We fixed the freeze/crash issue on iAudioGate 4.1.0. Could you please use the latest version. Best regards,

Good app, needs iPad support.

I like the app, but it would be nice to have some iPad support and screens. It would be easier to navigate and work with. I tend to leave big files and collections on my iPad since it has more storage than my phone and it leaves my phone free for 4K video capture. I tend to be able to sit and listen when I want my hi Rez audio files. It should be easy to add the screens for the iPad (I am around a lot of app development) and integrate them.

Waste money

I bought this app because it said can sync flac music from iCloud or google drive but i couldn’t add music from Cloud drive. So waste a lot mone.

Music drops a lot

I’m using this with an Aurender FLOW and a Chord Mojo. You can download FileExplorer download files off of your local network, use the open in option and send files to iAudioGate. That makes adding music really handy. The equalizer sounds really good. Most apps have really poorly developed equalizers. It can transcode higher bit rate to a lower bit rate.

Now the bad.
It seems to use a lot of battery. I’ve experienced audio drop out 2 to 3 times per song with all devices. It seems the best way to solve this is to restart the app. But that doesn’t always solve the issue and could happen again within 5 to 30 minutes, or it may not happen at all. I’m using them with aftermarket cables and the Apple CCK.

Good not great.

I really want to love this app. It has all the needed things. I have an iPhone X connected to a fiio Q1 MarkIII and M560 headphones. This app is all that was missing from my listening experience. I just want it to be a little bit faster. It hangs and freezes at times. I also wish it was updated for the bigger screen on the iPhone X. For $15 this app better still be in development.

Needs update for iPhone X

Needs to be optimized for iPhone X. It’s a paid app.

The best overall, with one small but maddening flaw.

I’ve tried most of the FLAC/DSD capable players on the App Store, and for me, iAudioGate is the best balance of features, usability, and design. But there’s one inexplicable usability flaw that keeps me checking the App Store for new options: when you tap an artist to see all of their albums, the resulting view doesn’t just show a nice simple, consolidated album list, it displays all of each album’s songs at the same time. So for an artist with a lot of albums, like the Beatles, or many jazz artists, it can be a *ridiculously* long scroll to get to what you want. EVERY other player does the normal thing of showing the simple album list, so I just don’t get why this one works the way it does. Yes, you can search in the overall album list, too, but then you’re scrolling through your complete collection to find what you want. Annoying. It would be so easy to fix, and if they do, the app would be pretty much perfect.

This is still the best all-rounder, IMO. But I can’t give it five stars. And now that the Onkyo player doesn’t look like it was designed in 1998 anymore, it’s a close call.
