About

Fennel is a food and symptom diary for IBS that looks for patterns between what you eat and how you feel, and shows you the evidence behind every one. Log a meal in seconds. Log a symptom in three taps, and stool in two. Then let the counting happen. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most diaries record. Fennel reads what you recorded. It compares the days you ate something against the days you did not, inside fixed time windows, and reports how often symptoms followed. By individual food, and by FODMAP group, because a group pattern usually shows up weeks before any single food does. IT SHOWS ITS WORKING Every reading opens onto the days behind it: each meal, the gap before the symptom that followed, and the counts on both sides. Nothing is a black box and nothing is a score. IT WILL NOT MAKE THINGS UP Fennel reports nothing until there is enough behind it: enough days you ate the food, enough days you did not, and enough symptom episodes to compare. Below that it tells you how much further it has to go, for example that two more garlic days would reach a reading. The most quoted failure in this category is an app telling somebody their number one trigger was water. Those thresholds are why that cannot happen here. NO VERDICTS ON FOOD Fennel never labels a food good or bad, never tells you to avoid anything, and never colours your dinner red. Colour marks how strong the evidence is and nothing else. What to do about a pattern is a conversation for you and your clinician. GUIDED REINTRODUCTION When you are ready to add foods back, the program schedules challenge days and rest days, records what happened on each, and drafts a reading you can accept or overrule. Phase lengths appear as ranges because the sources state them as ranges, and every source is one tap away on the screen that cites it. A REPORT FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT Your weeks in one clean document: the patterns, the stool record, and anything you flagged. Something to hand over instead of trying to remember. QUIET WHEN IT MATTERS Symptom and stool entry are built for somebody who is mid-cramp and out of patience. Large targets, nothing moving on screen, a haptic when it saves, and never a single upsell on those screens. FREE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE Logging, the day timeline, the calendar, exporting everything you have logged as a CSV file, and the Face ID lock. Charging somebody for a copy of their own diary is the thing this app was built against. PRO The full trigger matrix, every evidence card, the reintroduction program, the report for your doctor, and the widgets. Sold as a subscription or as a one time purchase. ON YOUR PHONE No account, no sign in, no server, no analytics, no advertising. There is no sync in this version, so your diary stays on the phone you logged it on. Export it if it matters to you. Fennel is a diary and a statistics tool. It does not diagnose, treat or advise, and it is not a substitute for your doctor or a registered dietitian. Every statistic in the app says so beside itself. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation. A subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can cancel any time in your Apple account settings. Prices are shown in the app in your own currency before you buy, and any free trial is stated on the purchase screen.
