Great for privacy, but has annoying UI. Recent update really frustrating. Can be unstable
Pros: free but still private; more stable than Overcast when subscribed to large numbers of podcasts; large catalog, including the ability to browse international podcasts
Cons: occasionally freezes, crashes, and/or skips backwards by 30 seconds. The UI is unnecessarily complicated and queuing up past episodes is really time consuming. The most recent update changed the default settings and deleted a bunch of my downloads. The episodes are gone from the queue so it’s going to take forever to even figure out which ones are missing.
A good option if you value privacy, want to find podcasts in multiple languages, or prefer casual, episodic podcasts. If you prefer binging serial podcasts, the UI is really annoying.

too confusing
I have the paid version and have had this for years. I find myself not using it because it is just too confusing and not intuitive and it takes up a lot of memory and I still don’t know how to delete certain things so that it doesn’t take up so much space.

This podcast app is my favorite.
Joe the developer did an amazing job. I noticed that there an a really. Life major update recently which was great.
I have been happily using this app for many many years on my iPhone and iPad. I love the swipe gestures and the user interface is nice. Swipe left or right to skip ahead or back. Swipe up and to the right to mark as played or draw an L to do the Leo skipping 2 minutes.
Double tap to pause or play. I also love the user interface. I have tried many other podcast apps but prefer this one.
This app can play video and audio podcasts.

Decade on still the best podcast app!
I have been using iCatcher for a decade. It’s miles above Apples podcast app and any other podcast app I’ve tried. I can’t imagine using anything else.
Horribly glitchy
I’ve used this app for years if not decades. It has always been really free from glitches and stalls. Now it’s constant. What’s up??!!!!! What did you do to ruin the clean operation. Recent update made it no better. Knock it off and put it back the way it was. Been considering switching to Spotify and you’re making that decision more likely. I’ll give a bit just because I’ve used it for sooooo long. But not being useable is a deal breaker.

Ich halte diese App nach wie vor für einen der besten, um gezielt Podcasts zu hören. Im Gegensatz zu vielen verschlimmbesserten Apps, ist es diesem Entwickler besonders gut gelungen, sie noch effektiver und übersichtlicher zu gestalten, nicht zu vergessen mit einem beachtlichen Funktionsumfang mit großem Nutzen.

Best podcast app on iOS
This is the best podcast app on iOS. It just works. It has every feature I want in a podcast app.
Why did it take me so long to find this?!
I’ve been looking for a new podcast app as the one I’ve been using for ten years is no longer being updated. I’ve tried a lot of them. I’ve finally found the perfect replacement. iCatcher is privacy oriented, has lots of features, and works perfectly with car play.
Still going strong.
Been using this app for many many years and the fact it’s still here doing what it does best👍🏾 Keep up the good work 😃
Redesign is not good
Bring back the classic look - I hate this move to a Liquid Glass feel. The old one was so much better!

Terrible redesign
Was fine as is, now the UI is ugly as hell and some functionality is plain broken.

Bad bad bad update
was nothing to touch it but...
but the cracks are appearing. appearance has changed for worse. light view is an after thought. settings are starting to get convoluted at expense of ergonomics
bring back a classic app option
After so many years of happiness, I updated into a chaotic buggy app.
Buggy
This worked great for about two years but the past three months or so it’s gotten really buggy. I reached out to Support but no one ever answered me so I’m afraid this is the review I have to leave.
Love, except recent UI update
I love iCatcher! and have been using it religiously for years for all of my podcasts.
I’m having problems with the recent UI update in 2 areas (I’m on an iPhone 13 Mini and will hang on to this “small” phone until it’s pried from my hands!!):
1. Deleting a downloaded episode. This is the most common thing I do every day and you used to be able to simply swipe left and pick “delete” but now you have to click on the TINY 3 dots, click Delete on the menu, and then click Delete Episode. So many steps! Also, 90% of the time, the menu quickly disappears before I’m able to even hit the delete episode button. Sometimes if I go fast enough I can grab it, but mostly I have to mark as watched and then later go to the bottom and delete. All of this is really frustrating. This appears to be a bug.
2. It’s really hard to tell if an episode has been watched. Something changed with the colors or shading where it used to be obvious, and now I have to study/compare next to another episode. :(

Best podcast player out there!!!!
I’ve been using iCatcher! for years. It is the best out there. Setting up playlists, syncing between devices, and managing subscriptions, it’s just the best.

Still great, but...
Probably the only app that keeps me on ios currently. One feature that is massively missing from the recent updates is the ability to move the episodes within a play list. Previous version, I could edit the play order by selecting edit. I could then move it and a number of episodes at once to a different place in the play list. It no longer appear in these updates
