We’re thrilled to have released our latest app, iImplant! Similar to iCath, iImplant offers AUC and guidelines for ICD and CRT devices based on the recently released 2013 ICD & CRT AUC. We’ve updated iCath to include a link in the Appendix to download the app for free. This version also includes minor bug fixes and performance improvements.
MoreiCath is a medical tool designed to assist healthcare professionals in determining the appropriateness of diagnostic catheterization and revascularization procedures based on the 2012 appropriate use criteria guidelines.
iCath is divided into three sections: Diagnostic, Revascularization, and Appendix. The Diagnostic and Revascularization sections guide users through a series of questions to provide recommendations on procedure appropriateness.
No, iCath is an unofficial supplement to the appropriate use criteria and is not intended as their replacement. Users are advised to familiarize themselves with the latest criteria before using the app.
iCath utilizes the latest 2012 appropriate use criteria guidelines, addressing 166 indications for diagnostic catheterization and 180 clinical scenarios for coronary revascularization.
iCath was developed by Weston Hickey, MD, a cardiology fellow, in collaboration with Marcus Smith, MD and Mazen Abu-Fadel, MD, FACC, FSCAI.
