App doesn’t work!
We have downloaded it multiple times and it always says it can’t download because if a recipient issue. Have also tried on multiple phones. It’s super disappointing.
Priceless tool while traveling in Iceland
We received a wonderful printed map in the welcome bag from our travel agent. The cover referenced this app and gave a special code to use to get all of the benefits. However when I clicked “upgrade” it happened automatically, no code or payment required. I can see how it would be challenging to use for advance trip planning (although the links to EVERY little guest house, hotel and activity provider were impressive) but once in Iceland and on the road, you can easily click on all nearby icons as you drive along and get details you can’t find anywhere else. It greatly added to the enjoyment of my trip to this amazing country.

What’s the point?
You can’t search by category, it does not show small roads, and it does not use English names. It just covers the island with meaningless icons. And if you move around the app and tap an icon, when you’re done reading it takes you back to your current location, making it useless as a trip planner.
Since you must have cellular to use this app, you’re better off just using google or apple maps. B/c you won’t find anything with this app - it’ll just leave you confused.
For example: did you know Skaftafell is known for its “extensive birch woods; rich vegetation”? This app won’t tell you that, you know, maybe people come for the glacier?

Not secure
To go off the map to a place of interest that place gives error message "site not secure". That is basic to get right! Very disappointing as the app is a good idea just not even executed to beta standard
Not helpful for first time travelors
The map is vague and only shows a few places they want you to see
Does not include popular attractions
Do not waste your time or money with this app. The free version is terrible and the upgrade is no better. One of the biggest attractions in Reykjavik, the Hallgrimskirkja has no pin and cannot even be found using app search feature. (Enough said about its usefulness for finding places to visit on holiday). As far as I can tell, the only part of Iceland this app covers well are ALL the farms in the countryside....as if I am coming to Iceland to go farm hopping. If the purpose of this app is for tourists to use on a road trip of Iceland, the app falls way short.

Disappointing
Would work so much better if it worked offline. Even with average wifi the app is very "clunky".

Alltaf kemur upp sama meldingar um að ég þurfi að fara í Settings t a heimila staðsetningu. Það hefur verð gert en breytir engu - þetta app er peningaplokkun:(
Good when it works, which it doesn't reliably
Good when it works, which unfortunately is rare. Failed most of the time and could not use it functionally. Problem is an error message saying GPS is not activated, when in fact it is, other location-based apps are working fine, and then will start working briefly with no change in the apps settings and then fail again. Waste of time and money for me.

Mér þykir spennandi að hafa Vegahandbókina á íslensku, en ég benti á eftir kaupin að ég hefði vonast eftir íslensku á staðarlýsingum o.fl. Svo kemur tilkynning um tungumálamöguleika og ég voða spenntur...fer inn og ... er sagt að ég þurfi að spandera 16 dollurum aftur!!!! þegar ég geri restore previous purchase....þá frýs og slokknar!!!!!
Update : fékk leiðréttingu og allt virkar virðist vera... og þetta er frábært app! Takk fyrir skjót viðbrögð líka - stór plús þar!!

Missing some key pieces
Not really worth the $15 "add-on." I'd expect a road guide to include gas stations - which are pretty rare outside of Reykjavik. No such information here. Also way too much random one paragraph information which hides the important things. You don't need to tell me about every farm.
The definitive Iceland road guide
This app is a must-have if you are self-driving in Iceland. Very comprehensive listings in many categories, maps cache when offline and the info is very useful to the English speaker.
The only downside is there is too much to see!
