iPhone app is awesome, but the Mac version needs to be so much better!!!

The Mac store app version of I clarified is refusing to download every time I even had to restart my computer. You need to find some way to fix this ASAP. It won’t even do anything on the current version of macOS 26.!!!! although to be relevant the iOS and the iPadOS version work wonderful

Love(d) it!

Update: Quite literally days after I posted my previous (below) review, you broke it… seriously?! I tried sending an email to support, no response, nothing. Cmon y’all this is horrible… Please fix. It still gets notifications, but the app won’t load and just appears blank… :( Old review: This app is one of the very few that still work on my iPhone 5, 6.1.4. It shows how long I’ve had it and used it. I’m writing this from my 1st gen SE since the 5 will no longer connect to App Store, (thx apple😒), but the articles and writers are great, it has stood the test of time, and will continue to always be a favorite for me for tech news. Please don’t ever change anything server-side though, to break compatibility with 6.1.4, it would be very sad to lose another long standing app. Thank you all at iClarified!

Not working

It’s working as if the system is down

Just nope!

Why does your app crash ever time I try and post a comment? Stupid.

Great app tec news

I like using this app to get my daily dose of technology news tutorial. They’re always current reference information and accurate without being biased.

This app uses an insane amount of ad/tracking/fingerprinting/telemetry companies it’s actually crazy

This “news app” is just a thin veil for the most invasive ad spyware I’ve ever seen. Simply opening the app causes connections to all the following companies (and sending your data to them):

Core Ad Exchanges / Bidding Networks

These are the backbones of real-time bidding (RTB), meaning every time you open the app your device is thrown into a live auction where advertisers bid for your eyeballs:
• openx.net
• rubiconproject.com / pubmatic.com / pubnet.com
• adnxs.com (Xandr/AppNexus)
• bidswitch.net
• doubleclick.net / googlesyndication.com (Google’s ad empire)
• amazon-adsystem.com (Amazon DSP)
• criteo.com
• teads.tv
• undertone.com

2. User Sync / Cross-Device Tracking

These domains are syncing IDs between different ad platforms, ensuring they can track you across apps, devices, and even into the web:
• gumgum.com
• tapad.com
• 1rx.io
• deepintent.com
• stackadapt.com
• ipredictive.com
• intentiq.com
• 33across.com
• tynt.com

3. Ad Serving + Behavioral Targeting
• adthrive.com (publisher-side ad management, heavily used by content sites)
• yieldmo.com (mobile ad formats & engagement tracking)
• kargo.com (high-impact mobile ads)
• dotomi.com (Oracle BlueKai legacy behavioral targeting)
• contextweb.com / socdm.com / smartadserver.com (supply-side ad serving)
• between.digital / postrelease.com (native ads disguised as content)

4. Brand Safety, Fraud & Metrics Vendors

Not there to protect you — but to ensure advertisers aren’t being scammed:
• scorecardresearch.com (ComScore) → behavioral analytics
• brandmetrics.com → ad effectiveness studies
• confiant-integrations.net → scans for “bad ads” but also fingerprints you
• adtrafficquality.google → fraud detection for Google Ads

5. Infrastructure / Hosting
• akamai.net / akamaiedge.net → CDN delivery of both legitimate content and ad payloads
• cloudfront.net (Amazon CDN) → same, lots of ad payloads delivered via CDN to evade filters
• azure.com → app hosting / telemetry

The iClarified app is a full-blown ad-tracking ecosystem
• Your device is fingerprinted, IDs are synced, and your profile is sold in real time to dozens and dozens of bidders.

Don’t use their app, just use their website. This level of user tracking shouldn’t be allowed.

Beautiful and functional

I use iClarified every day as a source of information about Apple and the tech world in general. iClarified has saved me time and money by showing me what the best deals available are and how to use them. I highly recommend downloading this app and adding the widget.

Complete Garbage

Doesn’t even launch. Malware right here. Don’t trust this junk!

Fixed!!

For some time, this app didn’t perform well. I don’t know what was done but the issues appear to have been fixed.

I can finally start using this app again.

Can’t scroll down!!!

It’s been ages where you can’t scroll down the page inside any article. How can the developers still not notice this???

cant read more than 1 page of any article

on iphone 12 mini and iphons 13 mini (we use both) on ios 17.6
problem has been on for weeks...
pretty useless for us, web site to continue reading an article, pretty ridiculous in 2024

Freezes

Used to love this app but for months now whenever you open a story it just freezes so you can’t scroll down the article. Come on guys it’s been like this for months!!

Scrolling not possible

Since iOS 17 scrolling is no more possible. I hope you can fix it.
Response time for displaying an article in the app is very, very, very slow, if ever you get a response.

Buggy can’t read pages

There is a bug that freezes the screen and you can’t scroll down

Needs major update to keep up with the changing times

The app needs a major update kind of like the iOS updates to keep up with the changing times after all, no one likes being left behind or out of touch or date. I’m just saying it could use a few more improvements and features.

Ultra slow app

Contend is good, but I never experienced such a slow app. Opening an article takes seconds and then even scrolling is often not possible. White wrong here? App re-install does not solve the issue. 1* is for the content, but does not help if you can’t read it. Am on iPhone 12 pro
