1. Amateur Radio Exam Study
In simple terms: Study with built-in Class A, B, and C question banks, review wrong answers, save favorites, and take mock exams.
Technical features: The study system is built on structured local question-bank data with progress tracking, error review, favorites, randomized answer
options, and simulated exam scoring. Explanations support rich text and formula rendering for radio, electronics, and regulatory content.
2. Amateur Satellite Tracking
In simple terms: Check satellite position, elevation, distance, next pass time, and visibility to know when a satellite may be workable.
Technical features: Satellite position and pass windows are calculated from TLE orbital data using the SGP4 propagation model. The app combines orbital
prediction with device location to compute azimuth, elevation, range, AOS/LOS, maximum elevation, and current pass status.
3. Satellite Frequency and Doppler Support
In simple terms: View uplink and downlink frequency information and understand how satellite motion affects radio frequency.
Technical features: The app combines transmitter metadata, uplink/downlink bands, and relative radial velocity to estimate Doppler shift, providing useful
references for satellite communication, monitoring, and signal decoding.
4. SSTV Image Decoder
In simple terms: Use the iPhone microphone to receive SSTV audio and reconstruct slow-scan television images.
Technical features: The decoder is built around real-time audio capture, frequency demodulation, filtering, pixel buffering, and multi-mode SSTV image
rendering. It includes decoding support architecture for common modes such as Robot, Martin, Scottie, PD, Raw, and Fax.
5. CW Morse Code Tools
In simple terms: Practice Morse code and use the microphone to help decode CW audio.
Technical features: CW decoding uses audio capture, Goertzel tone detection, timing analysis, and Morse codebook matching. A CW study quiz is also included
to help users learn characters, rhythm, and code patterns.
6. HamSpot Real-Time DX Monitoring
In simple terms: View live DX spots across common operating modes and quickly see what is active on the bands.
Technical features: DX spot data is fetched from online sources, parsed, sorted, and displayed with local time conversion. Mode filters include SSB, CW,
RTTY, FT8, and FT4.
7. Maidenhead Grid Locator
In simple terms: Convert your current location into a Maidenhead grid locator, or convert a locator back into approximate coordinates.
Technical features: The app implements bidirectional conversion between WGS84 coordinates and Maidenhead Locator formats, supports multiple precision levels,
and integrates device location and reverse geocoding for clearer location references.
