About
Kabuun teaches how the stock market works, starting from zero.
Read a candlestick chart, the company's numbers and the day's news, then predict where tomorrow's share price goes from four choices. Guessing does not work. The game is built so that the people who understand WHY a price moves are the ones who win.
For all ages
Available in English and Japanese. The app follows your phone's language and can be switched by hand at any time. In Japanese, kanji carries furigana readings that can be turned off, so younger readers can follow along.
Financial literacy is weak in Japan, and this is just as much for the grown-up who never quite learned how shares work.
Not guessing. Reading.
Good news comes out and the price falls. Profits drop and it rises. These are real market patterns, turned into questions:
- Already priced in: great earnings, price falls, because it had already risen
- Versus expectations: profits down, price up, because the market feared worse
- Dilution: a new factory sounds good, but the share count rose 20%
- Supply: record profit, then a large holder announces a 15% sale
- Interest rates: strong orders, but a high-PER stock falls on a rate rise
- Short squeeze: what happens when good news hits a heavily shorted stock
After each answer you get an explanation and a takeaway. Those two screens are the actual game.
It starts with why investing matters
Not with questions. The first slides explain that money loses value to inflation: a 10,000 yen game becomes about 20,000 yen in 36 years at 2% a year, while 10,000 yen in a money box stays 10,000 yen. Shown as a diagram.
