You know the feeling.
You scroll past something late at night, want it more the longer you look,
and order it. Three days later you open the box and pause:
why did I want this?
XianBieMai does one simple thing:
it stops the purchase, waits a few days, and asks you again.
- Three steps, ten seconds
1 Copy the link to whatever you want, open the app
2 Write one line: why do I want this? — this step is the whole product
3 Wait. When the timer runs out, the app comes back and asks
- That one line is usually enough
On the day it expires you don't see a product photo.
You see what you wrote a few days earlier:
"Saw someone shoot breakfast with it"
"It was on sale, felt like a waste not to"
"The old one broke — well, it still works actually"
Most impulses don't survive a week.
You don't need to be talked out of it. You just need to read yourself again.
- The more it costs, the longer you wait
Under ¥100 3 days
¥100 – 500 7 days
¥500 – 2,000 14 days
Over ¥2,000 21 days
Sorted automatically by price. All four tiers are editable in Settings.
Edits apply to new items only — things already waiting keep the deadline
they were given, so changing 21 days to 3 won't make a pile of items
expire in the same second.
Note: amounts are shown in CNY (¥).
- It only counts what you didn't buy
The home screen says "you held off on ¥12,830 this year" — not "you saved
¥12,830". Saved implies you came out ahead, and that isn't honest; the
money might never have been spent. Held off states one fact: you did not
buy these things.
Things you did buy are counted, but never added up in money.
This app is not here to make you feel bad about what you bought.
- One extension, and only one
The second time an item expires there are two options left: drop it, or
buy it. Unlimited snoozing turns this into a wishlist, and a wishlist is
how this kind of app dies.
- Getting things in
· Copy a link, open the app, tap paste at the top
· Share to XianBieMai from another app's share sheet
· Add it by hand — every field is optional
- Also
· Home screen widget: see the number without opening the app
· Expiry reminders are local notifications, never routed through a server
· Turning notifications off costs you nothing — expired items queue up
and ask you the next time you open the app
· Universal: iPhone and iPad
- Privacy
No server, no account, no analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs.
Everything stays on your device. Delete the app and it's gone —
there is no copy anywhere else.
Links are parsed on-device and never uploaded; the app never fetches the
product page. The clipboard is checked for one thing only — whether a link
is present — and never read. Actually reading it takes a tap on the
system paste button.
- Pricing
v1.0 is completely free. No in-app purchases, no subscription, no paywall,
no ads.
A future v1.1 plans to add a one-time ¥10 unlock, but if you install now
you keep everything free, permanently. That isn't marketing copy: the app
records its build number on first launch and decides from that — no
sign-in required, and it survives changing phones.
