About

Turn a spare iPhone into a security camera for your home — no subscription, no cloud, no extra hardware. Open the app on an idle iPhone, then open one web address in any browser on the same Wi‑Fi to watch live and control everything. Your footage never leaves home. WHY IDLEEYE • Free on your local network — no sign-up, no monthly fee • Runs entirely on-device — no cloud server ever sees your video • Zero third-party streaming — capture, encoding, and the web player are all built in • Reuse the phone in your drawer instead of buying a camera THE BROWSER IS YOUR CONTROL ROOM Nothing to install on your computer. Open the address the app shows (e.g. http://192.168.x.x:8080) and everything is at your fingertips: • Live video with about half a second of delay • Continuous 1–8× zoom to pull distant details close • Remote torch with brightness control, plus auto-light in the dark • Front/back lens switch, rotation, and mirror — mount it any way • 720p, 1080p, or 4K with H.264 / H.265 hardware encoding • Optional one-way live audio • Two streaming modes: smooth (~0.5s) or near-zero latency RECORDS ONLY WHEN SOMETHING MOVES • On-device motion detection with adjustable sensitivity • Optional smart filter: trigger on people and animals only • Pre- and post-event buffers so you never miss the moment • A whole day on one timeline — tap any event to play it • Optional 24×7 continuous recording with loop overwrite • Keep 1–90 days, cap total storage; oldest clips auto-clean • Trim with two sliders and export a lossless MP4 — no re-encoding PRIVATE BY DESIGN Video, recordings, and settings live only on your iPhone. There is no cloud account needed to watch on your LAN, and deleting a recording removes it from the device. Uninstall the app and everything is gone. GETTING STARTED (about 3 minutes) 1. Install IdleEye on a spare iPhone and keep it plugged in 2. Allow camera and local-network permissions 3. Open the shown address in a browser on any computer, tablet, or phone on the same Wi‑Fi GREAT FOR Front door and living room, baby and pet monitoring, shop and office, garage, or any corner you want a second pair of eyes on — using a phone you already own. BUILT TO RUN ALL DAY Anti-burn-in screen blanking turns the display black at minimum brightness while capture and streaming continue — keep it plugged in and it becomes a dedicated camera. FREE NOW, CLEAR ROAD AHEAD Local-network use is free forever. An optional account and remote viewing (watch from anywhere) are planned; even then the account only handles identity and authorization — never your live video — and LAN stays free. A NOTE ON RESPONSIBLE USE IdleEye is for monitoring your own home, property, and spaces. Please film only where you have the right to, give notice where local law requires it, and follow audio-recording laws in your area. IdleEye is not a professional alarm or life-safety system. Available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. What's New in IdleEye

1.0.5

July 18, 2026

• The system permission prompts and remaining in-app text are now fully localized in English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese • Screen-saver fix: the optional dim, drifting "monitoring" standby indicator now also appears in the full-screen live view, so OLED burn-in protection keeps working full-screen • Localization and stability polish Thanks for using IdleEye.
