IEA World Congress 2026

The 21st World Congress of the International Economic Association will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from June 22–26, 2026, jointly organized by the IEA and the Serbian Association of Economists. Its theme is “Contrasting World Visions: Globalism v Nationalism, Multilateralism v Bilateralism, and Democracy v Autocracy.” The congress brings together economists from around the world for research presentations, keynote lectures, panels, and invited and policy sessions, with more than 400 papers expected and over 800 attendees anticipated.
