Had to downgrade rating again because NO response to multiple messages to support over 6 months
New update claims to have fixed bugs but actually introduced a bunch of new bugs. Now it randomly pauses for no reason for several seconds while trying to navigate. It also makes my phone extremely hot and kills my battery life, I can’t help wonder if it’s running some kind of malware, I’m afraid to use it now.

The developers seem to be completely unresponsive/uncaring. No responses to several emails about pretty large security issues and functionality problems for over a year. Has some decently nice features if the developers were actually responsive and were fixing things but they don’t seem to be.
There's a bug that it doesn't show files that have more than one dot (period) in the name at all. I've lost files because I deleted a directory that looked empty when it wasn't really, it just looked like it because ifiles is buggy and didn't show me the contents!
I just discovered today that iFiles is wasting over 2.5GB on my phone, but I have almost nothing stored locally, it’s all on cloud providers. There doesn’t seem to be any “clear cache” or other setting, and my transfers list is empty. Seems the only way to fix this is to delete the app and reinstall from scratch, but then it will lose all my accounts and settings which will be a major pain to setup again.
Here’s the previously reported problems that are still issues:
Bad security problem since are forced to allow too simplistic "Allow Untrusted Certificate" rather than letting you see the details of a site using a self-signed certificate and being able to verify it is the correct fingerprint/key and enabling it to be saved for that specific site. Very insecure, and very bad design!
No ability to search for files by name or for text within documents.
No support for copy.com
Needs an easy way to retry ALL failed transfers instead of having to manually do one at a time.
Transfers don't seem to continue while sleeping/background.
The wifi server support is poorly done, should be easy to toggle on and off rather than hidden and defaulting always to the same thing when you open the app.
App doesn't remember where you were if you leave and return, which makes you have to go traverse the whole directory structure EVERY time, this needs fixing ASAP!
No ability to sync files/photos to servers. This is a MAJOR feature deficiency, as it is very hard not to miss photos or changes since you have to do it manually (and then verify they all actually transferred successfully).
Also, since photos/videos are saved on the server with the timestamp you uploaded them instead of when they were taken, that makes trying to "sync" all your photos even harder.

Best ever file explorer!!!
Very light, however still the best file explorer for basic files management including text editor and others. I really wishing this app supports forever.

Please fix PDF VIEWER
When enable text selection, long tap to select text on PDF causing white blank page. Please fix ASAP as I have many PDFs in ifiles. Very annoying

All my file is disappeared
When i try transfer my family files to the Another file inside the iFiles app ,my family file is disappeared.

People are crying and are angry because they can’t access their previous paid version. Guess what, that’s what happens with change. You are otherwise asking them to work for free to service you forever. Because you paid them $3.99… Would you expect the new ipad or iphone for free because you bought an older version? No.

Been using it for years, still useful and needed.
Exactly What You’re Looking For
I’ve been using this app since I was what, like 15 maybe 16 and it always does exactly what I’ve needed it for. You can download and save files off the internet, organize it well, and the app still functions to this day after being out for so many years.

I’ve got to say this time “thank you” for the update, as I suffered a big ordeal during the last 6 months after the latest big update of iOS with your app, it failed to open my stored videos and lots of tiles that I kept in my file manager. I've for a long time used and really appreciated and liked iFiles. I tried using iFiles 2 but it just wasn't the same in my opinion in terms of quality and ease of use and it paled in comparison to this original app I always thought.
I was fine with this original iFiles never being updated so long as everything worked properly. But, with the latest release of iOS 14, I'm actually on iOS 14.2, this app is no longer working properly.
Well, I should say that the one issue and broken function I now have is that this app will no longer play video files. Every time I attempt to play one of the .mp4 or .mov video files I have stored in iFiles it just goes to a black screen and doesn't play the video at all. It also freezes the app and I have to do a hard cancel to get out of it and restart it to continue to use it anymore. I still do have iFiles 2 installed and I tried playing a video file in that app as well. At first it didn't work and did the same thing as this app. But, the developer updated iFiles 2 a day or two ago and now it's able to play video files properly again. I only wish the developer would update this app as well so it functioned like it's supposed to do so.
I'm really reluctant to move on to another file management app because as I've said I've come to really like using this original iFiles app. But if the developer is not going to update this app to work properly with the latest iOS updates I'm just not sure what else I can do.
Also, I find it unfortunate that, in my opinion at least, that there are so few competent file managers available on the App Store right now. I have downloaded the file manager, ES File Explorer, as I used it all the way back when I only had Android devices and it seemed to always work decently enough. Although that app doesn't offer a text .txt creation option and it also doesn't offer folder icon customization like this app does. Thus, to me at least, it isn't as good as this app was when this one worked.
So, unless the developer of this program updates this app and fixes the video playing problem I guess I'll have to use ES File Explorer or find some other file manager. I had also tried the File Browser app but it doesn't even show up in the Open-In/Share Sheet menu anymore since iOS 14. I contacted the developer about that ridiculous problem and oversight but he seemed clueless or reluctant to fix the problem. Which, I find it asinine that a dev. would find it acceptable for a friggin' file manager app to not have the ability to show up in the Share Sheet menu when you're trying to transfer FILES to it, but whatever, I'm getting way off topic.
I do hope and ask, though, that the developer of this app to please update iFiles so that it will work properly again please and so that videos will play once again in this app. I really hate the thought of having to transfer my bazillion files I have stored in here to another one. That will take an inordinate amount of time.
I know this app was free and I was always very grateful for that, assuming you weren't data mining all of us users to make a profit. I also know that you never ever reply to reviews and have seemed to have abandoned this once great app. But, I still hold out hope that you'll please update iFiles to be fully compatible with iOS 14. Thanks if you'll do so, it would mean the world to me and I'm sure many other users who are now experiencing problems with this program because of the latest iOS release.
Heck, I'd even be willing to pay a one-time price for an update to this app to keep it working. Please don't abandon this app and its users. Thanks for all the work you've put into this app over the years, at least when you did update it, and God bless.
