What's New in iFly EFB

14.1.37

September 1, 2026

1. Sketching Revamp - drawing now keeps up with your finger, with far more of the detail you put in. Strokes appear the instant you draw them, the small wobble of a moving hand is smoothed away, and sketches stay sharp as you zoom instead of thinning out or breaking into dashes. A quick tap always leaves a clear, round dot. Starting a pinch no longer leaves a stray mark behind, and Undo and Redo take effect immediately. 2. Visual Approaches at More Airports - smaller fields that carry no surveyed runway coordinates are now supported. iFly estimates the runway geometry, so the approach path, runway and landing route all draw and can be added to your plan. Estimated runways are labeled "(estimated)" in the runway menu. 3. New Visual Approach Entries - choose how you join the pattern. Pick your runway, then tap the Transition to set your entry: a straight-in when you are lined up on final, a direct downwind when you are arriving from the dead side of the field, or the standard 45. 4. Improved Night Mode - what you type is now clearly visible. Entry boxes were drawing text in nearly the same shade as their own background, so the field looked empty until you saved. Flight plan names, checklist entries, waypoints, Weight & Balance figures and the Add Waypoint search now read clearly as you type. 5. Improved Weight & Balance - fuel entries are now checked against tank capacity, so you are warned right away if a number exceeds what the tank can hold. 6. Improved Satellite Imagery - your account's Satellite Imagery access is recognized again, so the imagery layer is available when you are signed in. 7. Improved Custom Waypoints - the NavLog and the "Next WP" instrument now show your waypoint's name instead of its latitude and longitude. 8. Improved Measure Tool - a pinch no longer steals the two-finger Measure Tool, the measured endpoint no longer sits slightly off, and a new measurement now starts where you tap. 9. Improved Checklists - the checklist you open from the instrument and the one you run over the map are now the same form, so the layout and wording no longer change as you move between them. "Next" names the item it is about to check off, a finished checklist says DONE, and Swap sits with the list name. 10. Improved Plates & Diagrams - the plate menus and "More Plates" now stay with the airport you picked, the plate image refreshes correctly when you toggle between approaches in full-screen view, and "Auto-Show Apt Diagrams" is now reachable from the Plates button. 11. Improved Flight Planning - Real Plan results keep the departure time you chose, Airport Info opens reliably when a NOTAM's relevance window falls outside your plan, and tapping a row in the Flight Plan List expands it reliably after you delete a plan. 12. Improved Data Update - the Data Update map now renders correctly across all screen layouts, including when the screen size changes mid-session. 13. Improved Device Sync - now handles thousands of saved Flight Trails gracefully. 14. Improved Stability - "Update Weather from Internet" no longer freezes the app when you are offline. 15. Improved Nearest List - Caribbean airports (Puerto Rico / U.S. Virgin Islands) are now ordered by actual distance. 16. Improved Altitude Callouts - the "500" callout now resets more readily. 17. Improved Layout on Smaller Tablets - bottom button rows now fit the form width, and the Airport Info buttons are wider and easier to hit in portrait.

User reviews

Enormously comprehensive

I’m relatively new to iflygps but the available features are more than impressive, it not only does all I want but adds features I do not have on my glass panel but wanted. It’s also easy to use and there are good how-to videos on their site. Highest recommendation.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that iFly EFB has exceeded your expectations and is providing features that complement your glass panel. We work hard to make the app both powerful and easy to use, so it's great to know you're finding value in the interface and our how-to videos. We truly appreciate your recommendation and your support. Fly safe!

Adventure Pilot IFly

I have used IFly since 2012 and will never switch to Foreflight. They continuously improve features and it has has everything and more than we need. It’s easy to use and also less expensive than Foreflight.

Response from developer

Thanks for sticking with us since 2012! We really appreciate the support and are glad iFly EFB has been a good fit for your flying.

Easy to use

Love how easy it is to use and all the updates..

My go-to flight planning tool and moving map GPS

I’ve been using iFly since it first came out, and it’s perfect for what I need. It’s simple enough and easy to operate while flying, whether on mobile phone or GPS tablet. “Nearest” airport has saved me several times. I highly recommend it!

Response from developer

Thanks for the awesome review! We’re glad iFly has been a reliable tool for you over the years, especially the Nearest feature. We really appreciate the recommendation.

So far so good

Coming from FlyQ. I like that I can pick and layout the instruments, which ones, which size, which color, and how they are organized.
The one thing I am not a fan of is the courseness of the sketching tools compared tomFlyq
