Seeking identification tool

This app sadly doesn’t seem to allow an upload of an image to identify the mushroom or fungi. Very disappointing as I was hoping that it was an Australian based app it would be comprehensive, clear and easy to use. There are apps that are good for North America but sadly disappointed with this Australian app 😕

Magic mushroom left out of app!

I like to go out and pick mushrooms on my friends land occasionally as a delicious snack. I was however unable to identify one of the most common varieties I found in summer and spring on this app as it is not listed! Panaeolus cyanescens, I later found they are called or the magic mushroom Blue Meanie! So do not download this app if you are hoping to head out mushroom picking and avoid magic mushrooms as there is no information on them.

Has good info but rarely identify mushrooms

The identity feature rarely works throughs up species that don’t fit your description and excludes other that obviously fit?
Then when you want to go back to look at another possible mushroom from your list it wants you to start over.

MSH

Ifungi lite said to download this full version to get the AI ID,
This version does not have it, it’s just the ifungi lite version with a couple more pictures?!

Total rip!

I don’t find it reliable

Tried to use it with mushrooms I already knew the name of, was not really helpful nor reliable

A useful guide

The pictures are great - useful to have common names as well as scientific names.
The common names take you directly to the picture as one would expect.
However when browsing the excellent images, only the Scientific name is given. It would be nice to have a common name as well.

Descriptions don’t scroll

Really good app except for when the description is more that 1 screen length. There seems to be no way to scroll down to read the remaining text. A fix would be good!

Not for the Psilocybe hunter

App is pretty good to give you a better idea of what you’re looking at but won’t identify them. Lacks “active” mushroom species and sometimes incorrectly labels them as “poisonous”. This is fine except they are not poisonous, but psychoactive. This lack of accuracy leaves me with doubts to the accuracy and usefulness of app.

Not for the actives hunter but I’m sure mushroom lovers will love it!!

Best mushroom guide

I like this app as it’s has the best information all in one place regarding fungi in Australia. I would like some more photos with specific identification highlighted on photos. But overall a excellent easy to use app for every fungi enthusiast.

Incredibly detailed and useful

I'm new to the world of fungi hunting and this app has made my adventures easy to look up mushrooms I find. Saves me purchasing a book

It's a good start

I was able to identify one out of about eight mushrooms I found near my place. The app needs a lot of work but it has good potential.

It would be great to be able to filter the database by colour, spore print, habitat, etc. I really hope the developers keep working on this app.

iFungi AU

Easy, great looking app. Lots of photos & information about mushrooms including if they are poisonous.

Best Australian fungi app

I have been learning new species each week and loving the updates that add more species. More photos would be great.
