This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon. Removed text appearing besides some buttons. Full support for taking images can be leveraged only through the iPhone's "Powerful " Camera App. Users are advised to access jewelry photos from within Photo Library. Implemented minimum compatibility on iPhone 6.0, iPhone 6 plus and iOS 8.0. This is the last minor update after which, iGemology will be re-written for full adoption, compatibility and support for iOS 8.0.

This app is not bad and got common info about gem stones. It can estimate diamond/colored stones weight just by keying in stone's dimension. The list of birth stones is convenient too. Basically, what this app serves can be integrated in GIA gemological system. That's another advantage. However, the info about colored stones is not adequate. We need more species and variety. As a G.G., you are supposed to compile a more complete database. Cell phone is so advanced nowadays, I don't think that memory size would be a problem. Hope the author will improve it very soon. After all, it costs 20 bucks, and it should provides more data which can compare with its price.

Excellent portable gemologist's tool

The features in this app enable a gemologist or appraiser or gem buyer to make weight decisions and some separation decisions using this neat little portable app -- all on an iPhone, without the need to carry a laptop.

It is worth the price based on the number of goodies that are in it.
