Great Game, Just One Thing Though
I personally love this game a lot and don’t really have anything to complain about it. I just wish that Midnight Cinderella and Destined to Love were available for me to download in my area/country. I really, REALLY want to play them as well!

I really enjoy Ikemen Sengoku and the Ikemen Series as a whole, but I wish there was a way to earn coins without spending real money. Tapjoy isn’t very helpful—most offers are limited or still cost money. Despite that, it’s a great game and I highly recommend it, along with the other Ikemen games!

Events Aren’t Worth It
I’ve played this game on and off for close to a decade. I already knew from early experience that it could be a dangerous money sink, but I decided that just once I wanted to see what it felt like - and what it cost - to complete an entire story event. With 24 hours and change left on the current event, I can honestly say the decision brought me zero pleasure. In fact, I feel physically sick. Even using my Shaved Ices as frugally as possible - almost exclusively during lucky times - I’m $250 USD in the hole just completing all the endings. The “Personal Glamour” bonuses would probably cost me another $30. Learning the true and revolting extent of Cybird’s greed through this experiment has me seriously questioning whether I want to continue supporting them at all. I understand needing to make a profit, but this is beyond the pale.

Love it, but..
The game is amazing, but I’ve been waiting 4 years for Ranmaru’s storyline, and still haven’t gotten it. They’ve come out with new characters, new events, new everything, but we still haven’t gotten a storyline for Ranmaru. It’s disappointing, honestly. It would be 5 stars if they actually kept up with the original characters instead of making new ones.

Mostly love it
I love the style of the app, it’s so nostalgic to me. I love Oda Nobunaga (in the game), absolutely adore him. However a big thing for me is the MC, I don’t like her attitude and her temperament. I don’t like the way she responds. But that’s simply because I’m not the same type of girl she is, and therefore when she reacts certain ways I wouldn’t it ruins the immersion for me, n I just generally don’t like her because she isn’t relatable to me, and I’m bias but this is a review it’s entirely subjective. Despite myself I do understand an MC must have a personality, but this type just isn’t for me.
I love the dress up feature, even though I can’t really use it lol, for reasons others bring up. This critique is found in other reviews much better than I can word it, so I won’t repeat.

Ikesen will always be my first love but…
This was my very first otome game, and it will always have a special place in my heart, but it’s reached a point where I find all the new content borderline unreadable. I loved all the act 1 stories and I still love all the characters, but time travel is a huge component of the story and I feel that they’ve failed to develop that aspect of the worldbuilding in a way that is enjoyable and satisfying to read and that does not detract from the story. The act 2 and 3 time travel stuff is equal parts annoying and inconsistent and actively impedes my enjoyment of the stories. Additionally, they’ve started rapidfire releasing sequels and ‘eternal love’ routes while they still haven’t released Ranmaru’s main route even though his character has been out for a few years now. It’s weird to me that act 2 characters are starting to get EL routes and other characters have all their sequels out when they still haven’t bothered putting his main route out. Heck, all of act 3 came out before this act 2 character, which makes no sense.
That being said, a lot of the content in this game is really good. I loved most of the routes I’ve read and am still actively involved in the fandom even though I’ve deleted the app. I suppose my only point here is that it’s wonderful, but only to a point, at least in my opinion. I wish the writing team had put more thought into fleshing out the worldbuilding in a way that strengthened the story and overall reading experience rather than detracting from it, and I wish they’d released the sequels and EL routes in a more thoughtful way, but oh well.

Needs an update to work on newer iPhones!!!
I’m so sad because I loved this game and it worked on my old phone, but on my new one, it’ll only load the opening page. When I click any button (play, customer service, data transfer), all I get is a yellow screen and nothing else. Can’t finish the story or get help in the app!! 😭 please fix it!!

I love the stories in this game, but it becomes very hard to play after a while. They no longer offer free premium currency (coins) for watching videos, so the only way to get bonus stories and special attire (needed to unlock special stories in the main routes) is to pay real-world money. With how many coins you have to pay for each bonus story, you can pay upwards of $7 for a story that takes 2 minutes to read! I could almost deal with that (the bonus stories aren’t required to play the base game after all), but the game constantly gives me errors so I have to close and reopen it. It doesn’t work on my high-speed wifi at all and still gives me errors even when I switch to 5G. Now previous attire in my closet isn’t loading properly and I think isn’t counting toward my “beauty” score in lessons. I know both the game and my iPhone are updated, so I don’t get why there are so many problems.

Can’t Play
I’ll give it an extra star that at least this game actually started, unlike the previous one, but the amount of times characters were just floating faces was creepy. Add on that when I finally got to pick a route I couldn’t even start because every time the main page tried to load it was constant notifications and news updates. Like, thanks for keeping me updated but could you not throw those updates in front of my face one after the other when I’ve just started the game? I can’t even play my chosen route because I spent so long tapping through the updates I lost all my interest in playing any further. I’ll give the company this-their games so far a consistent waste of my time.
