With the "I'm Nearby" app, you will be able to have text messages and/or emails sent to anyone you choose, automatically, based on your location. - Let your spouse/significant other know when you've left work - Let your parents know that you made it home safe after a long trip - Let your friends know you're in their area With "I'm Nearby" you can set up recurring events, so that your messages will only be sent on certain days. You can even specify a time constraint, so your messages will only be sent within a certain timeframe on certain days! You can also create a one-time "throw-away" event, which will delete itself once the message has been sent. "I'm Nearby" leverages email to SMS gateway, which allows you to send text messages for FREE through a regular data connection. Other apps make you pay per text message! All you need to do is choose a mobile number from your contacts and specify what mobile carrier your friends are on (i.e. Bell, Rogers, Sprint, ATT etc.) If you want to send an automated email, it's as easy as choosing an email address from your contacts. This app is so powerful, it can send messages automatically even if the application isn't running in the background! Though, you can always disable this feature if you so choose. Finally, please be aware that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
