High hopes

Less than a year ago, at 72, I got into model railroading, and I got into it big time.

Because of that I needed an inventory app to try and keep track of what I was acquiring.

I have an app that works great, but I can’t print off any type list to help keep track, and there is no Mac app for it.

I got your app in hopes that it would work for me because it seemed to have everything I needed.

My biggest problem was terminology used in the app. There are a lot of factors that make it difficult, one of them being that I’m new to this and have to keep looking things up so I can understand what I’m reading..

I played with several apps to see how well they worked for me by only entering a couple of items in them just to get a feel.

Once I realized that I could ignore most of the selections in your app, and how to change things to fit me, I started entering inventory last night so I could start testing printouts today.

Everything worked fine entering data other than it can be tough doing data entry on an iPad, but I can adapt.

Today I went on line to look at the apps for the iMac and probably the Windows version also. I also liked the idea that what is on my iPad, I can have on my phone and iMac, which means that I’m not stuck having to use one devise.

For some reason, I didn’t get the Mac program because I wasn’t sure how it was formatted. I knew it would be easier than on the iPad, but I hesitated.

After looking at the Mac app in the App Store, I decided to do some more entries on the iPad and think a little more about it.

All my data was gone.

When I started the app, all I got was a blank screen, with “No Data Selected in the middle of the screen.

There was a back arrow in the upper left corner, and when I touched it, the app closed.

I tried several times with the same result.

Something similar happened before, but after a few attempts, I got a “+”, and was able to enter data.

When I checked my iPhone, the app opened, but was empty, so I entered information to see if it worked.

The format was different, but I figured it out easily enough and just entered information on one locomotive.

Later on I tried the iPad again and got nothing but “No Data Selected”, and no “+” to start entering.

I have removed it from my iPad, but the app on my phone still has the information I entered earlier.

I’m only putting this here because I have found no other way to reach you.

I was really happy with the app until it quit and lost everything I entered.

I had 7 items entered, and well over another hundred to do.

This is why I tested apps by only putting a couple of engines or cars before I entered data on over a hundred locomotives and rolling stock.

I’ve deleted the app because it does nothing. I’ve even tried removing it and reinstalled it a few times, but that didn’t work either.

I have a 29inch iPad Pro, third generation with IOS 15.7, so it should work. In fact it worked great for a while.

I just wanted to let you know what happened, and hope it can be fixed.

I’m trying not to using Word or Excel because they really don’t fit the need, and database programs without a lot of useless items are hard to find. I don’t mind paying for an app, I just want to make sure it works before I purchase it.
