What's New in The Blue Alliance

3.5.0

September 7, 2026

Hey y'all - you can now change the app icon from Settings → App Icon, with three new icons to pick from. 2023 Match Breakdowns are now fully implemented. Matches will now show empty RP dots (as well as the filled RP dots) to show the possible number of RP in a match. Team @ Event now has a tappable event row on the Summary tab. District Event grouping has been fixed. Event Awards now shows team numbers again. Crashes

Just got an update and when I click on the school’s listing the app crashes. I was able to find it by a search.

Response from developer

This should be fixed in the v3.2.3 update! A reminder that The Blue Alliance is built and maintained by volunteers https://github.com/the-blue-alliance

Doesn’t seem to load any recent events

I was only seeing regionals from 2 years ago.

Response from developer

This should be fixed in the most recent update! A reminder that The Blue Alliance is built and maintained by volunteers https://github.com/the-blue-alliance

Great but…

It’s a great app and all just is super slow so you don’t know your place until a while after a couple of matches and then by then it already had changed

Not compatible

My phone says I can’t use this update. I have an older phone. Is there a way for you to remove it from my update que? Whatever version I have has picked up the 2024 schedule. Thanks.

Search is utterly nonfunctional

I’ll preface this by saying this is specifically a review for the iOS app, not TBA as a whole

The search function just plain does not work. Trying to search for a team or event will immediately show “No results found”, or a loading spinner that never stops loading. I’ve tried deleting search and network caches with no improvement.

In addition, the TBA app is associated with urls for thebluealliance.com, and any links from, for example, Chief Delphi, will open the app instead of a browser tab. Which would be fine, except that those links only open the home tab of the app without actually loading the data from the URL. Trying to look at a team or event is frustrating when the app integration doesn’t work and I can’t use the search function to find it. I end up needing to either scroll through the list of all teams or events or just give up in frustration
