Well made game with good mechanics

I dont normally write reviews but this game really exceeded my expectations. Its got a mix of auto battling and deck building that is quite fun and provides lots of replayability. The art and music is also of a great quality compared to other games of this ilk. The different factions and units are varied enough to accommodate multiple playstyles.

The unlockable content is set up in a way where you can get access to 90% of the stuff just by getting achievements and earning gems that way, but for the final campaign you will have to drop some actual money. I’m taking one star off because the final campaign is unfinished so it was a bit disappointing to pay 5 bucks for 3 missions, but overall im okay with the exchange because I got so many hours of fun from the multiplayer mode and Im hoping they will continue development.

Great game, please release more campaigns

IT’S LIKE CHESS BUT ROME, love this please add more levels!!

Great … but

Really enjoying the game, fun concept and good gameplay. Only problem I’ve had is the game resetting my progress. Besides the UI could be a bit better for giving some more info. Other than that, great game that deserves more exposure!

Imperium: Rome

Really good game, easy to understand, nice art. Good mechanics. Really short though, feels like a demo, finished way too quickly. A couple more campaigns and generals, units and levels would be nice.

One thing would make this game better. But I’ll give three.

Basically? Okay so, biggest improvement would be making the building upgrades passives that go between levels. I know there would be some people who would look at this and go “BUT THAT TAKES AWAY THE DIFFICULTY!”

No, it doesn’t. An extra troop/item a round, +1-2 army space, increased fire/poison damage or more health means NOTHING if you don’t have the actual requirements to activate them, especially when in survival mode you’re basically dropping like flies constantly cause you don’t have the items to make your characters broken while the enemy army snowballs fast to overpowered to the point that even with almost all the upgrades I’m SOL due to never having the right combo of items.

If you don’t wanna do that, then make it so at least survival mode has less enemies and they DONT snowball to the point of unbeatable around round 5. “OH YOU’RE JUST WHINING-“ it’s a single player mode and I haven’t even gotten to see anything else other than the most basic units no matter what strategy I employ, and with only missing out on like two upgrades that won’t help me (the last two in the Gaul perk I think) it’s frustrating to feel like absolutely nothing I did actually meant anything, it doesn’t make me want to play more, it makes me HAPPY I didn’t spend anything on it with the amount of frustration it brings me.

Or if you don’t want to do either of these major changes, then uncap the centurion perk. “OH BUT THAT WILL MAKE IT BROKEN-“

THAT’S THE POINT. I LITERALLY HAVE ENEMIES HITTING ME FOR A HUNDRED PLUS DAMAGE AND ALMOST INSTANTLY KILLING MY UNITS, I CANT OUT DAMAGE THEM, I CANT TANK THEM, NOTHING I DO WORKS. GIVE ME A OVERPOWERED UNIT FROM THE START THAT TAKES ME GRINDING TO GET AND I WILL ACTUALLY ENJOY THE GAME AND STOP FEELING LIKE IM WASTING MY TIME, WHICH IS THE WORST THING YOU WANNA DO FOR SOMEONE WHO’S PLAYING A GAME.

Other than that the game is actually pretty good, take the points or nah, idc, but genuinely I know at least with how the game is now it’s basically only getting the “git gud lol” crowd.

WARNING: Extremely Addicting

This game is terrifyingly addicting, I have played this game so much my wife has considered this game is the reason why she’s reconsidering our marriage. It is a simple but fun game in regards of combining unit to make them stronger.

Campaign:
The campaign isn’t bad it is a little short for my taste possibly adding a 3 star difficulty to each mission might keep you interested for a bit longer in that part of the game. I would love to see another DLC for it.

Online:
Haven’t had a lot of issues with the online version seems simple enough to keep winning till you hit the highest rank achieved.

Endless:
I absolutely love endless my only pet peeve with it, is when I reach wave 100 all flags stop giving me perks for assigning them to a unit so I just slowly dwindle away due to not being able to take full advantage of that. Also I would love to have information on how to be able to get mythical units within it. I was able to start getting skeletons one time and never had the chance to get them again.

All in all it is an awesome game to try out would love to see more from it.

Fire

Really good auto battle chess like game with unit merging and equip able items, definitely work in progress, the only thing I wish it had was a pause, mute, and or setting tab.

Decent

Nice mechanics.
Hard to know what power ups and units do.
Need to add a long-press that reveals details on every card.

Fun game seems unfinished

Really enjoying playing this and trying out the different types of units. Good level of difficulty. Definitely needs work. For example, it is impossible to lose an online match. Can continue playing infinite rounds past when it says you will lose if defeated on the next one. Now I’m not mad about that - but should
probably be fixed

Lacking continued game play

It is surprisingly fun however you get to a point where everything feels the same. Even the endless mode gets repetitive.

Ps. Don’t know if it’s intended however there is a certain set up where you pretty much can’t lose in endless and it just takes forever to die. I got to round 400+ before I just sold everyone and gave up

Amazing gem

There is depth here that makes it very engaging, the basic combination of troops almost made me opt out but by the end of the opening campaign, combining equipment, matching side alignments for boosts. Very cool

I hope you the best!

Mars, is overpowered

Get rid of mars

The theme and art style do it for me.

This dev has another gladiator game that I really enjoyed. This game has a similar art direction with fun gameplay. Definitely worth playing.

Great Autobattler - Broken Online

Imperium:Rome has a fun autobattler gameplay loop, unfortunately most of the time when i have tried to play it the online wont load. The few games i have played online have been greatly enjoyable.

Great Potential

No Guide, even looked online, didnt find much. it seems it’s based off other similar games of the same name. Units combine once youve hired 3 of the same unit. it increases stats. the stats dont have descriptions as youll soon find out once you look at the weapon combinations. you can make out most of what everything does with common sense & the meagre descriptions they give for items & units. There are some gripe about it IE: Flint saying the fire damage gradually declines but doesn’t give increments nor is there a description for how the mechanic fully works. Overall though the game is very fun. i dont think there is multiplayer yet so you can only play the prologue for free as you will get 350 diamonds & you need 400 to get the next campaign & the only option to get another 50 diamonds for free is to win an online match to get the achievement. honestly for what it is, i wouldnt mind spending the $4 to unlock the rest of the game. i will personally wait to see if i can match make online at some point though as i just get stuck connecting.

edit: online mode now works & things are better explained with a new tab. i’ve since updated to 5 stars. good job dev!

Good game

Pretty fun game, can’t wait too see more of the campaign

Genuine Review

I don’t normally leave reviews but this is a great game. Fan of Gladiator Manager too. Very challenging! I’ve gotten to 59 on survival and it would be great if we can get a bigger scale, more units, more buildings like walls, guard towers? Idk but love the concept. Thank you for this gem. Keep it up!!!!

Fun campaign auto battler

I’ll be honest I’ve not played many auto battlers other than your big titles like TFT, Pokémon Autochess, and merge tactics. But this one has a fun system of managing your ‘backpack’ space to try maximise efficiency in upgrading your tools whilst updating your units through merging same troops together and giving them equipment which can also be merged. The guide they give you provides a description of each unit rather than looking in-game and what factions they’re from.

A relatively okay story, quite basic, but I play for the gameplay myself. Also requires you to place your unites tactically depending on your builds and your opponents. Has unlock-able content with the first chapter being possible to get through getting achievements - though I think you’d need to pay to unlock further chapters.

A couple complaints being gems needed to unlock basically everything in the game other than multiplayer - though I don’t believe that’s real-time VS. Second complaint would be there’s a massive lack of content available, finished the game in my first play sessions of 1-2hrs and now only have multiplayer and survival available.

Awesome game though, and fun strategies to use concerning different factions.
